  1. Didn’t happen Monday, so no. but it was discussed
  2. Husband keeps his hands off wife for one full day Neighbor: ”Interested to see if Suzy still complains about her husband.”
  3. Sounds like more of a prediction than a rumor
  4. Exactly my point going into season. I stated prior to season that if Bears own pick was top 5, you can’t possibly trust Poles to make this once in generation opportunity to transform the team. To his credit(?), he made this team good enough to only pick 9. I see the argument for letting him do it. But if I’m Warren, and Poles recommends going into offseason with Eberflus still as head coach, that’s enough to tell me he’s not the guy to bring this team forward. If I’m Poles, I have to realize that loyalty to Eberflus is worthless. You have to fix the offensive infrastructure of this organization. You’ll never get a better chance at this opportunity.
  5. Black Monday came and went with nothing announced, not even rumored. Something has to happen eventually. it’s been quiet
  6. So what was the headcount on monday? Washington and Atlanta fired head coaches. A handful of teams either fired a coordinator or one resigned. Carolina canned the GM. pretty uneventful day, even if you take into account the three midseason firings. 5 feels like a low number with the amount of bad teams in this league.
  7. Yes, it’s dumb. Scouting is a make believe business and valuations are subjective nonsense. Moving up for your guy is just arrogance using somebody else’s credit card.
  8. I think the number one thing is Poles hired him and sabotaged his first year. Eberflus played the good soldier and didn’t complain, even after talking about the engine that makes the d run and then Poles not acquiring one in two seperate offseasons. Poles has a dilemma. Do you stick with the guy that guided your tank to its intended target? If so the you have to be prepared to offer an extension as early as this offseason, and definitely by next year. But then you probably have to fire Eberflus in the middle of the next contract. Or do you wipe the slate clean and get the right guy now, and with that start your own firing clock?
  9. That doesn’t mean much to me. All the signs were pointing toward him returning. There were a ton of positive vibes about him and his defense. I wouldn’t interpret a lack of a link to mean anything.
  10. Completely agree. This is almost an unprecedented opportunity for quick improvements and building an offensive infrastructure that will keep a team in contention year after year. But the head coach matters and I don’t see a path to Eberflus being the guy that gets it done. They need an entirely new offensive regime, and may even be hesitant to do that.
  11. I think we’ll know Eberflus’s future within a day or two, but guys have been fired a week or two after by other teams so it wouldn’t be unprecedented, especially if Warren is now running the process. Getsy may or may not be addressed immediately.
  12. They had two years and plenty of cap space. Just because they chose not to use it does not mean they didn’t have two years. They had two and blew it. That’s why we’re sitting at 10 wins over two seasons, with very limited offensive weapons, multiple holes on both lines and only a couple truly impactful defenders. Having some good players isn’t enough. You need impact and they don’t have them.
  13. 1) A lack of impactful RB isn’t a problem if you have impactful receiver group. The Bears do not have either. 2) the bears have had plenty of resources to address obvious needs for two years now and have failed to do so. I don’t have high hopes that Poles will figure it out now.
  14. Ron Turner was fine. Mike Tice was a good o line coach in over his head. Shoop and Crowton were bad.
  15. They never view the lame duck as a lame duck. That’s not how it works
  16. Why would pitt trade a 2 for Fields?
  17. Who stays, who goes? Who sticks around for one week but then is fired after another guy becomes available? Will Eberflus be on this list?
  18. People talk about how good the defense has looked for part of the season conveniently forget how bad they were in multiple games, how often they came up short in the end, and the fact they faced a last place schedule. The defense is just another defense in this league. They are nothing special. And they can’t afford to spend big resources on it this offseason since they pretty much have to go QB/WR in the first and desperately need o line help. Two years in and they haven’t found the engine that makes this go. It’s probably not going to happen.
  19. Jordan Love is very likely better than Justin Fields but Love’s coach is definitely much better than Fields’ coach.
  20. Shut the horsefeathers up. It was a blatant penalty called for every qb in the league for the past decade.
  21. When you are a defense first coach and your defense isn’t great 17 games a year. You shouldn’t be a head coach
  22. Last night in NJ. He had his head down going through the middle. rest of game was a scrum. Zero talent left on this team.
  23. They’re as bad as people expected, and a lot of people reminded us it would be like this.
  24. That’s assuming not only that they get those things, but that they hit on all of them. You may be getting an opportunity to improve 4 spots, but it’s unlikely that you’ll succeed at all 4.
  25. I’m really not concerned with optics. It’s year 4 for Fields if he returns, so he either takes off or he doesn’t (he won’t). I’d rather keep bringing in competition for the room than remain stagnant just because Bagent wasn’t horrible and Fields didn’t completely prove he ain’t the man. One way or another, I think you have to draft a QB this year.
