  1. It is going to go one of two ways: A) A very long protracted process where the NBA sticks to its guns but Sterling manages to pit multiple groups against one another in a bidding war, using the threat of lawsuit against the NBA to force it to help drive up the price. B) A very long protracted process where the NBA waits for the heat to die down and then allows for some sort of transfer of ownership from Sterling to his heirs.
  2. http://gawker.com/sterling-yells-at-george-costanza-for-associating-with-1570386651 There's video of him making a lot of same comments back in the 90s.
  3. yeah, paula abdul and janet jackson taught me a lot about life Madonna's "cherish" video put a spell on me.
  4. Cannot play with him, cannot coach with him, cannot win with him, can't do it.
  5. There's a dude who lives near me who wears bow ties almost every day. He looks like a stereotypical nerdy accountant, and is almost always in a suit with the bow tie. But every once in a while, like on Opening Day or playoff games, I see him fully decked out in A's gear and it's pretty awesome.
  6. Are you just assuming there are not other big market teams, owned by aggressive owners that have consistently show the willingness to spend, even "overspend", on free agents?
  7. Winnie was nice, but too much of a sweet girl next door type. Boring. Sam was spunky.
  8. Yeah, that was weird, I felt somewhat similar. Then got mad at myself for it.
  9. Chastised, but not ostracized. But also, not "any player". I guarantee you loads of superstars with stellar reputations have left the clubhouse without being ratted out by the team. This sort of things happens during 15+ year careers. It is unfortunate, but it really is no big deal in the grand scheme of things. It is perfect red meat hacks like Kaplan and Sullivan to get their audience riled up, but it is pointless nonsense in the grand scheme of things, that being a dozen years of producing more than anybody else on the team.
  10. Well okay then. By the way, that was sarcastic because your post was delusional.
  11. Did people see this idiocy? http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-ernie-banks-sammy-sosa-20140430,0,5678646.story Ernie Banks wants to help reconcile Sosa with the Cubs but Ricketts, who can't get anything done on any level to help the organization take a step forward, blows him off.
  12. Calling a player a baseball? Referring to his partner, or the audience, as player? Sounds like a stoned dork.
  13. does this guy have an influential uncle or something that wanted to see him pitch before leaving the stadium?
  14. that'll up your distance off the bat numbers Junior
  15. Bryant collided with the 1B on a come backer? Too much hustling.
  16. I don't care about Sosa. I care when someone makes an unfair comparison. Frohman gave his opinion on the subject, and it was against the grain of everyone else's opinion. I would say that's not being a dick compared to telling someone to go [expletive] themselves. Can you see how those two things are different? Frohman made an impassioned idiotic post and got called out on it. Then you pretended you were too cool for school while contributing to the length of a thread you were baffled could be this long, before exposing yourself as a liar. So you admit, that he just made an impassioned idiotic post and was not being a dick? Good day sir. on to page 9

  18. I thought you didn't care.
  19. Decent points, try not being such a [expletive]. Says the guy who went nuts on this topic earlier.
  20. Good timing, I just read this yesterday: http://grantland.com/the-triangle/first-round-stanley-cup-sharks-kings/ uuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
