  1. Not at all. I'm not discussing the Cubs am I? I'm talking about this forum and how it feels as a new member to be treated badly. I won't be back here to talk baseball 'till the Cubs turn it around and the climate is less negative. Stop wallowing in this century of losing thing. None of you here is 106 years old. You should stop talking about stuff. The only wallowing here is in the past 5 years of pathetic baseball the Cubs have had. If you want to tell a fan to not be negative about 5 years of horrible baseball, you are an idiot. By the way, those references mean you are talking about baseball.
  2. It's that lighly done toast that just melts the peanut butter perfectly. It's bound to be eaten soon and that's when he will start pitching poorly.
  3. so the good bye was disingenuous?
  4. Everybody involved in futbol is taking a dive
  5. or just call them by nothing but their respective names?
  6. That's just silly. Bryant having less than a year of pro ball and already seeing AAA is not a particularly meaningful statement. He was the dominant college bat and he has dominated the minors from Day 1.
  7. I don't understand what all that means.
  8. juiced bags for Rizzo and the first swing and miss looked weak, and then a soft one hopper to 2B.
  9. Bailing him out of what? Hamels is really good and only signed through his age 34 season. If we can get him without giving up our top end guys, I'd be all for it. It's like if we could give Lester a 4 year $94M deal. I'd do that in a second. i realize it seems like my last two posts conflict with one another, but that's because we have one guy talking about trading top 5 prospects in the game and another talking about him like he's an albatross. Yeah, I'd be more than happy to see the Cubs bail him out of that contract, as long as taking on the contract is considered a substantial portion of the return in the trade. The Phillies aren't in trouble because they have Cole Hammels.
  10. That's not really the market for very expensive players now though, is it? I see no reason to consider giving up 2 top prospects.
  11. Am I missing where someone said that the yankees could have easily beat the offer? that lunatic for the ny daily news maybe? Ah, ok...thought we were talking about Cashman or Francesca. The Daily News article doesn't use that exact verbiage, but close. No, not exact, but more or less the same. "seemingly" is weaker than "easily", but it is followed up with "far better package" which essentially means they could have easily beaten the A's offer.
  12. Why would you set up picnic tables in the OF of a baseball stadium so that half of the seats would have their back to the field? Only a handful are positioned perpendicular to the field so everybody could look (not that anybody was sitting there).
  13. any team that would've had javy up to start this year would've been wrong, though. You cannot make that judgement.
  14. i get that you're making fun, but honestly, it's so sad that guys like sullivan, rogers, rogers, telander, haugh, morrissey, muskat, etc. have actual jobs and he can't find one. i mean, most of that list is HOF of terrible worthy. hey! I like David Haugh. You should reconsider.
