  1. he grew up in texas and went to eastern illinios, so we know he isn't smart. Hopefully he knows football has the ivy league thing hit NFL executives? among NFL GM's, EIU might be dartmouth Ryan Fitzpatrick went to Harvard, people forget that.
  2. got close to placing blame for 2014 on Trestman there
  3. he's trying so hard not to breathe through his mouth

  5. Ted says he, George and Ernie "will be involved" with future head coach interviews. his daughter's name is karden?
  6. Online link? http://www.chicagobears.com/
  7. OH MY GOD TED IS THERE WHY WHY WHY?
  8. Very interesting... Just realized the futility of Cle or is lining up something with Mike? There's been a lot of "Shanahan package" rumors, especially in Buffalo, which apparently is going to now interview Kyle for HC today. I don't to hear any more about a "Shanahan package". I thought everybody expected Shanahan to be the OC for Dan Quinn, wherever he winds up.
  9. I don't think cubs convention will tell us anything. Only a certain segment of weirdo die hards attend that thing and they were probably still hanging around despite the general apathy. A one-off sellout of a three day event coming directly on the heals of the Lester hype is something different from people actually tuning in to 3.5 hour baseball games every day in May.
  10. Right, it's probably somewhere in between the two. On one hand, there is more hype, on the other hand, 2007 was a couple years removed from back to back great seasons. 2014 is coming off five straight horrific seasons where people have fled the bandwagon, attendance and ratings are way down and people have more and more choices to spend their entertainment dollar, including more people who have cut the proverbial cord than was the case last decade. So you have more hype this year but it is starting from a point of greater apathy as well.
  11. Somebody needs to take care of that moldy carpet situation. And Betsy in accounting has to stop reheating fish in the microwave.
  12. Even though this is not entirely comparable, I am going to assume it will similar to the situation from 1998 and 2003. In both cases it was relatively easy to get tickets early in the year, and it wasn't until the second half, when people really realized something good was happening, that you started to see 40,000 seats sold for games. And it was the following season that really saw the biggest demand for tickets in February. I am going to guess ratings will have a little boost early in the season, but unless things really click immediately, they will take a while to pick-up. And it may not be until 2016 when you see a real boost, assuming 2015 ends up being good.
  13. Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs 34s34 seconds ago Hearing interview for #Cardinals DC Todd Bowles went well with #Bears on Thursday. He's meeting with #49ers today.
  14. Hope not. Have heard nothing but horrible terrible things. Yeah, he made some enemies. A lot of it seems to be power struggle in nature, which I would think would be a red flag for a new GM.
  15. I've definitely never done something so embarrassing. Nope.
  16. Or when he goes all Kromer... "Bowels leaks info" Or when Green Bay hangs 49 on his team: "Packers, Rodgers smoke Bowles"
  17. I'd think Denver or Seattle are the only real options for a good Bowles joke.
  18. Not for nothing but didn't Phil Emery have complete control?
  19. Sean Payton is an EIU alum....I'll trade a 1st for him :) You'd trade the 7th pick in the draft for a coach that just went 6-10 in one of the worst divisions in the history of football? Not this year's 1st, maybe the 2025 one.
  20. Is that supposed to be meaningful? Exactly. Was he the main scout of the Midwest region or something? He would have had to have been a pro scout if he's responsible for signing Brees away from San Diego. By all accounts he has been a pro-side guy so far.
  21. Somebody tweeted earlier than he and Marrone were on the Chiefs together.
