  1. Flacco from his heels
  2. Superior coaching and great talent evaluators, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Insane how they keep losing offensive coordinators yet their offense gets better each time. From Cameron to Caldwell to Kubiak. Not to mention, they've had Pagano, Rex Ryan, Hue Jackson, and Greg Mattison as DCs over the last 8 years. Tells me they know how to hire coaches.
  3. Rough timeout there
  4. He and lovie are the only two coaches I've actively rooted to come to the Bears.
  5. Expect lebeau to take over for Bowles with his buddy Arians.
  6. @AdamSchefter: Bills are bringing back former Jets HC Rex Ryan for a second interview tonight in Florida, per league sources.
  7. NE in fg range. Tom takes a pressure sack and a coverage sack to back out to 35, out of range. Not a word from booth about his failure.
  8. There's no difference now. Somebody just had a weird hang up about Ted.
  9. Well this is the crux of our disagreement. Not what his role is now. I'm totally clueless on your point. Everything that's been reported is that Emery had to go to Phillips for approval on transactions. But even if that's not true...we know that Pace doesn't now, which is the important thing. If Phillips has no role here other than hiring Pace, what's the concern? What's that now? What report ever said that? I heard no such thing.
  10. He should, but it obviously seems like he doesn't want to cede that. He went out of his way to define the org structure ahead of Pace today, and there are rumors that Ballard was more concerned about who was ahead of him than Pace was followed by a maybe coincidental shift from Ballard being the heavy favorite to Pace being hired. It's not about Ted ceding anything. McCaskey wants Ted to be the CEO, so he is the CEO.
  11. I feel like you are over thinking this.
  12. Over a multi-year period, that is all that matters, at least after the first year. Win totals should go up and if they do not, you aren't doing a good job as a GM. It's not that complicated.
  13. Like most nfl teams "mixed results" after 4 years is going to lead to the status quo. The GM may have a chance to hire a new HC, but stability is preferred and as long as they avoid disaster seasons, they will stay. That's just how the NFL works. The alternative is a Snyder situation where turnover is the norm, or if there is a change in ownership.
  14. As you know, there were no Theos. There really aren't theo-types in the league, and there are none available. Likewise, there was only one top of the food chain HC around and that is Mike Shanahan.
  15. Who cares? Is George McCaskey some huge upgrade from him in this regard? Because if he's fired (or demoted from those duties) McCaskey either hires the replacement or does it himself. I'm not sure about McCaskey. I am fairly confident about Phillips though. Of course another outsider was an option too. The football guy to oversee the football game is needlessly convoluted. It's just another hire for them to screw up. If the next coach is successful he is the guy who will end up with the power. That's how this league works.
  16. there were rotating captains each game, right? That's what Briggs said. Don't remember hearing it before this... Just weird Oh I remember. They made a big deal about who went out for the coin toss each game.
  17. But he has to report into Ted... http://i2.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/004/702/Nancy_Kerrigan_Biography_2.jpg
  18. there were rotating captains each game, right?
  19. It was weird when he cited the need for the head coach not to be a sex offender.
  20. he grew up in texas and went to eastern illinios, so we know he isn't smart. Hopefully he knows football Nice What did he say that led you to believe he was about to toss Trestman under the bus? They asked something about why the team has struggled in recent years and his answer started with evaluating the roster but emphasized that the most important thing is finding the head coach.
