    I thought the idea of moving elsewhere for a season wasn't anything more than idle speculation. Damn. I'm pretty sure we heard they discussed it previously. This isn't that crazy. Who said it was "crazy?" I just didn't remember anything indicating the Cubs had actually looked into it or talked to the Brewers, that's all. Beginning and ending with exclamations of whoa and damn suggests you thought it was pretty crazy.

    Reinsdorf sucks, plus Miller has a roof that will eliminate rain outs which would be impossible to make-up with 162 home games all in the same season. Plus, I would not be surprised if gate revenues would be likely higher from Miller rather than Reinsdorf's stadium.

    Oh, I think Cutler is far higher. I'll put Cutler at 75%, and even that I'm afraid is low. afraid? Weird phrasing. I don't think there's much chance Cutler is going anywhere, and I don't think he should. Yeah, I'm assuming he is back and put it at like 90% maybe.

    I couldn't believe that. How many drunk-driving deaths and arrests does that organization need to rack up before self-important blowhards stop writing articles like that? cards fans were very defensive when the stupidness was pointed out. A collective "we didn't write it".

    Any reason why you feel this way? He's a possession WR who's never had blazing speed, and is still in great shape. Takes good care of his body. Assuming the injuries stay away, I don't really see a reason he couldn't crank out a couple more 1,000 yard campaigns... History of wearing out his welcome despite production. A devastating mental illness that tends to ebb and flow in terms of how it affects people. And as a physical guy he does take a bit of abuse.

What else would "shopping" him imply other than the "idea of moving him"? i think he means to imply that one guy thinks they are intent on moving him and the other thinks they are just feeling the market out and letting teams come to them Sure, even that distinction is very poorly written. But the first sentence is bad and redundant all by itself.

    beat me to it. I was thinking they would have 3-4 good years together, and I think this guy isn't going to age well so I am not disappointed with the concept. Needs to be something useful though.

    That doesn't really add up. The Philly owners are mega rich and just getting richer. They have been more than willing to throw money at a problem and would probably be very likely to spend big on an unnecessary computer in an attempt to play catch-up with the analytics. It would be a slightly larger price tag than whatever Jim Hendry spent to hire the guy who printed out old box scores to be his big jump into the numbers world. Although it could be a number of other teams.

    Really? I think Amaro is stupid enough to think that buying a really fast computer could check off his lack of analytical knowledge. i dont think amaro cares what anything things about his team's analytical knowledge I don't think he would be the one making the decision.

    The next Welker (according to dolphins fan at work) It cracks me up that the guys skin color is more important when making comparisons than his height. Hartline is 6-2, Welker 5-9. Most of the replays I've seen of him, he's catching quick slants and deep post routes more-so than the short out routes, crossing patterns, and stab routes that we've become accustomed to seeing Welker run. I would say Hartline's game is closer to Jeffrey's than Welker's. Kyle retweeted Kevin Fishbain @kfishbain · 3h 3 hours ago Saw a few tweets about Brian Hartline as a slot WR (I wonder why…). Only 13.7% of his routes were from the slot per @PFF. Outside guy.

    So you think that between pitches they will yell out from the dugout that his arm slot dropped by a 1/4" that last time? So much for the attempts to speed up the game. Or maybe this is just another example of the league office cutting off the Cubs attempts to beat the competition. Or more likely it's not the Cubs that spent that much money on a computer.

    Tell me what on Earth you could need the processing speed of a supercomputer. The benefit is how quick data can be transmitted. There is simply no need for computing data that quickly unless you think we've got all our players armed with bluetooths to be told when to swing and at what trajectory. well maybe you've answered your own question.

    Unless it's being relayed to the players at the point of contact, there's no need for that kind of speed. Spitballing, but maybe for VR-esque training stuff? Agreed that there's no significant benefit to having a supercomputer just to have a supercomputer, although I haven't followed the story so maybe that label is just marketing silliness than actual distinction. Whatever the label, half-a-million-dollars is crazy town. Or maybe they spend that much giving out ipads and iwatches to everybody.
