they start friday? i could've sworn i'd been hearing for weeks about how the hawks opener was going to be the same night as the NL wild card game Yeah sorry, I had just been looking at possible ticket options for that game when I decided to start the thread. They play the rangers wednesday night which may or may not affect TV options in NYC area bars. But I'd guess the baseball game will dominate everywhere.
Blackhawks drop the puck Friday night in the Barclays Center. There are still tickets available and I am tempted to go only because it would just be game 1 of the NLDS and I could presumably watch a fair amount of it somewhere in the arena. It's Stanley Cup defense time and they did that better the 2nd time than the first time they tried. This offseason has been yucky, mostly for one reason and partly for other hockey-related reasons. I still hope the team does well.
Was just about to post the same thing. BFIB gonna BFIB. There's always time to face your alcohol problems in the afterlife, or your teammate's funeral.
I've done that NYC-PIT drive, and it's painful. Of course, it's a little different when this game is waiting for you. But I'd be afraid of what a $43 airbnb gets you even in a relatively small/cheap town like Pittsburgh. Sleep with one eye open.
I just wish it was a series, that's all. It will feel weird with either the Cubs or Pirates gone after one game. When they win and we're all happy go ahead and feel weird all by your lonesome, weirdo.

An NFL team that isn't only 75% there isn't good enough to be a 10 point favorite. And the Chiefs haven't had any tougher of a first four games than the Bears have.
Finally, I defend this system because it was my idea 10-15 years ago and I love how perfectly it has been proven to work. Maximizes league wide interest includes extra teams but does not dilute playoffs. And win or go home baseball is insanely intense.
