  1. Wada and Turner were expected to be on that list. Is Wood going to get a contract?
  2. You're most likely right, but I thought the same thing when I skipped an Eric Clapton show at Alpine Valley. That ended up being the night Stevie Ray Vaughan's helicopter crashed. I also skipped Pink Floyd's last ever Dallas show because I didn't feel good. I said I will catch them next time around. Oh well, I'm over it at this point. I'm just ready for Wednesday to come so we can get the Wild Card game going.
  3. I'd like to build the depth through the minor league system so you can shuffle guys back and forth as needed, but that list of 9 names has 5 who cannot be counted on to start games next year so it's not really depth.

  5. Was it dismissed with extreme prejudice or just the regular kind?
  6. They were terrified in 2007, too; it's a Chicago thing. Any of the Bulls playoff games, the Bears playing the Packers to go to the SB, [expletive] even the THIRD [expletive] Stanley Cup the Blackhawks were about to win in 6 years were dominated by timid, relatively quiet Chicago fans who seem convinced everything is going to go wrong. I want them to be going ape [expletive], dammit. This is all dumb and wrong.
  7. Somebody gif up that longing look by Bryant at rizzo
  8. You really have to be some kind of disillusioned weirdo to not see how winning games this early in the season is enjoyable. Also, Peyton manning isn't in this draft.
  9. He's sucked for a few weeks now anyway
  10. NLDS? Arrieta will be available in game 3 on regular rest.
  11. consider it dealt
  12. I love how the guy crying about things like bat flips is so completely unaware when it comes to calling another player "soft." Boy, yeah, those leagues are just so soft because they don't tolerate their players acting like morons and beaning batters like they're petulant toddlers. Not sure I'd interpret that statement the same way you did. It almost feels like he grew to accept the flare. I get that it's whiny to complain about the flare, but calling somebody soft when it relates to playing through injuries is a much different issue.

  14. but its our american dollars...
  15. I like Cutler, but why thank god? Aren't we already in tank mode? I know I'm in tank mode. team is practically unwatchable without him. I'm more or less in tank mode but I will prefer Cutler starting any game in comparison to the other bums.
  16. apparently I forgot which week this was

  18. I don't really know a lot about SRS, but it only has 3 AL teams as below average. AL leads interleague 163-130. I think that's a tough sell. The bottom of the NL is just so terrible. Top of my head, I'd take any AL team over the Phillies, Rockies, Marlins, and Braves. And would put the Reds and Brewers as coin flips. The AL Central blows and Minnesota is barely over .500 with 7 more runs scored than allowed. Successful? Maybe a little bit. But 84/85 wins is not impressive and that's where they are heading.
  19. does this belong here? Probably. Bud Norris http://deadspin.com/bad-baseball-player-has-bad-thoughts-about-foreign-play-1733820530
  20. not sure who the hell casey stern is but isn't Bucher a basketball guy? There's no way Dusty is going to LA. also [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet]https://twitter.com/jonahkeri/status/649252702665314305[/tweet]
  21. You can probably override most issues with Dusty by continuously throwing money at every free agent available.
  22. Doesn't matter. We were doomed when we stopped being able to draft and develop talent top to bottom. The pending doom was there. They held onto Angelo too long while he wasted a few more drafts and then hired a guy who couldn't reverse the trend. Well that doom began when Lovie started having more input into the drafting/personnel decisions, which began after the Super Bowl loss. i think Lovie always had input. Angelo drafted speed, acquired speed, did whatever he could to give Lovie his coveted speed. But Lovie had more direct official input beginning in 2007, the Dan Bazuin draft.
