  1. That feels like it might point to a flaw in how they are measuring replacement level. Or really poor personnel decisions by uninformed boobs. Plus a lot of cup of coffee drinkers.
  2. There's been a lot of shitty players in baseball history.
  3. A succinct description of Cubs fans' attitudes about this regime for the last four years. this doesn't work anymore
  4. In four years of constant waiver shuffling, the only player of any consequence that has emerged has been Valbuena, unless I'm just completely spacing out and missing someone. One free Valbuena every four years isn't nothing, but let's not overpraise the situation. I know it isn't a waiver claim but wasn't Rondon a Rule V pick? And how did we acquire Coghlan, was he just an outright FA? that's not a thing
  5. With two cancer survivors on the team I think that is a recipe for disaster in the clubhouse.
  6. Unless he despises Cooper and/or the White Sox at this point, I have to think he would have taken the qualifying offer if that were the case. He turns 31 in January, another year works against him as much as it works for him, in all likelihood. He could take a short-term deal that still leaves him the opportunity to cash out with one last deal. Maybe he'd take a 2-year deal with an opt out if he reaches a certain innings limit. 2/28-35 gives him security if he can't bounce back but plenty of opportunity to cash out big if he does well. Short-term commitment at a fairly high dollar amount from a team perspective wouldn't be a terrible risk.
  7. Actually, it is entirely true. His article says nothing about management wanting to move him. It mentions he wants to be traded and it mentions they aren't happy with his attitude, but it very clearly never says anything about management being willing to trade him. You would have to come to that conclusion yourself and if you did you can't say "according to the other guy who never said that."
  8. uh yeah, that was coaching 101 back in the day.
  9. She was really getting on some press on twitter this morning for reporting this crap, specifically Rob Demovsky. [tweet] [/tweet]
  10. He can want whatever he desires. He's not getting Price money. Yeah, and he's not a #3 at best, so that was a really bad post. He would be the Cubs third starter..., at best.

  12. game went to pick-em and now Bears -1
  13. Simmons and Magary are coworkers now?

  15. Like when he announced the starter?

  18. Football isn't like baseball. You can't just insert a guy into the lineup and be fine. They need to know the playbook and it takes time. Draft picks are also much more valuable in football since guys contribute to the team the year they are drafted.
  19. Trading deadline was November 3rd. It is not at all realistic.
  20. Wait, that tweet isn't from a parody account? yes, but it would be fun
  21. That's a foot injury, correct? Yes, unlike Tebow who tore through his mom's placenta, which is much different.
