What will be more telling is if they actually hold extension conversations this winter. If he enters the season as a lame duck, his job security will be something discussed obsessively next year. There is no way they go into next season purposely go into next season with that distraction hanging over their head. I think it's 60/40 "they mutually agree to part ways" in November / he gets a 2-year extension.

We need a guy who can put the bat on the ball in clutch situations (to move runners over, to hit a sacrifice fly, etc.). I'm tired of watching batter after batter swing for the fences and then strike out with men in scoring position. We have too many all-or-nothing hitters. I'm tired of this constant complaint at the end of every Cubs season. A certain segment of the audience always claims the thing the Cubs need is fewer all or nothing hitters and more contact guys. -
I have no idea, other than I assume that tweet where some Brewers fan called out davell's "I'm not worried about the brewers" continued to get a lot more action even after I muted it. And I already muted this one as well.

The one that bugs me the most is all the whining about the schedule.

Could the Patriots game? Currently it's Rams and a JimmyG-less 49ers team. I don't see a more compelling matchup that Sunday as of right now than Bears Patriots. I don't think they can flex games until like week 11. But i could be wrong They can begin in Week 5:

It's Hamels' side day, right? If he goes 2 or so innings tonight, it wouldn't be short rest. I'm not sure why people pretend side sessions are the same thing as pitching 2 innings in a playoff game.

Montgomery threw 33 pitches two days ago, and 62 five days before that. He should be fine.
