  1. Not going to hate you for it but don't hold your breath waiting on an abuser to be contrite and take responsibility.
  2. are you kidding me? Do you know how many pollacks it would take to drive in a run?
  3. They move the ball well on offense and eat up a ton of clock. They simply can't execute in the red zone. Is success in the redzone similar to BABIP in that it will eventually regress to the mean over time? there's only 16 games in a season and a handful, at most, of trips into the red zone each game. There is no time for regression.
  4. I don't think it would be that hard to go into LA in January and pull off a win.
  5. You can picture the exact moment sofa gave up hope of ever winning again and completely changed his life
  6. However much time you spent thinking on this, was way too long I spent 6 months working on this headline and he just posted it.
  7. They would argue that they spent $86m less in payroll than the Cubs so the Cubs should still be able to beat the Brewers without all of those pieces. well therein lies the rub. the system allows for the Cubs to spend more than the brewers, the Cubs do choose to spend more than the brewers, and the Cubs will continue to spend more than the Brewers for the foreseeable future. You can't treat that as a flukish thing that may not repeat.
  8. There's another guy have a good year? Give me some clues.

  10. I disagree. I have no problem with a closer who only goes one inning and doesn't go back to back all that often. The problem is when you don't stick to that plan. The three inning every time closer is a phenomenon that is going to destroy arms in short order and guys are going to refuse to do it in the playoffs very soon.

  12. this is [expletive], liam neesons had one in the chamber before getting [expletive] blocked, the man needs a release.
  13. This feels like a HUGE unspoken thing; how many people actually think Baez: Baseball Freakshow is a realistically sustainable scenario? Outside of the general miracle of him being who is, it's double miraculous he's been able to stay healthy given how banged up his style of play must leave him. People seem super casual about him taking over at SS and that being set for the forseeable future, when that doesn't seem like a sure thing at all. It's crazy the Cubs went from, "LULZ, what are we going to do with all of these baller middle infielders?!?" to, "holy horsefeathers; our MI is the bizarre baseball monster that is Javier Baez and the corpse of Ben Zobrist sometimes," in, what, less than 3 years? I will refuse to doubt Baez until he proves doubtable, but it is dubious that he is the only person in the history of the world to have his particular skillset. I will say that his patience has ticked up the last couple months (13 walks the last two months [lol that's an improvement]) so maybe he can Sammy Sosa himself into 50 walks next year? He had to do that this year to keep this team competitive w/o Bryant. He will not do that next year, but Bryant and Harper will make up for it.
  14. So I don’t know if this is even an option. Or if it’s even worth doing. But I think we need to shake things up a bit. Andy’s got the current game. Ride him out until we clinch the division. But if he falters, I think some of you guys need to go on short rest. That means Sammy Sofa, sportin’ that .714 winning percentage. Banedon, you need to be ready after that if they still haven’t clinched. No offense to Liam Neeson and the rest of you guys, but you don’t start Alec Mills and Tyler Chatsuck when the season is on the line. Who’s with me on this?
