  1. Afternoon delight
  2. Smart, they air two MNF games that week so will be able to shift eyeballs to better games if bears horsefeathers the bed again
  3. Should have been Philly for BBL headline purposes. But chargers may get waxed in that one
  4. A bigger advantage is their opponent will be Cleveland
  5. Didn’t realize that. I wonder if they’ll find one place to make home for the two weeks and travel for second game as if it was a road trip, or do two different “camps””
  6. The Island is even more provincial than Chicago. People rarely leave Long Island unless it’s to south Florida for a weekend. They are obsessed with all things Long Island. I don’t know a ton of islanders fans, but I do know it would not be a hard sell to trade down from 1 and end up with Hagens. not only would they get Hagens, but they’d get whatever else they got for trading down. And that organization needs a ton. Not good enough to make the playoffs and very low on prospect lists.
  7. Yeah. On one hand they don’t have as many road games, but on the other they spend two weeks in London. Pittsburgh is mediocre and Cleveland stinks, does it really matter if you play them in London or their home stadiums?
  8. I’m probably not a great arbiter but my girls both play multiple sports and care very much about their outcomes. They ask me to put hockey on tv regularly. They won’t sit and watch an entire game, but they have watched a few playoff games, even those not involving their favorite team. We go to them semi regularly and they love being there. I know they are aware of the Savanah Bananas but don’t think they have any interest in them. They are tik tok and snap addicts though. their friends vary from absolutely zero involvement/interest in sports and some that are probably a little more invested.
  9. https://www.bleachernation.com/blackhawks/2025/05/12/lets-talk-about-a-few-potential-blackhawks-2025-nhl-draft-trades/ Tab Bamford goes through a list of potential deals involving the hawks early picks. There’s a couple different concepts, trade away the pick(s) for older NHL ready players. That can be RFA or other guys teams don’t think they can keep longterm or prospects, including currently unsigned guys. It can also mean using their plethora of picks to move up, like they did last year with the Islanders. That trade read to me as Davidson having too many picks and playing fast and loose with their value. the islanders winning the lottery has had me thinking of a way to swap with them to allow NYI to take their hometown kid in Hagens. They kind of can’t justify doing that at 1, but if they move back to 3, why the hell not? The only issue is there are other teams that will be much more interested in taking the consensus #1 guy, while the hawks would do it for the rights to the 2nd guy, Misa.
  10. Good point. PCA is way behind on alcohol imbibed and women assaulted
  11. No there weren’t. people didn’t like that he requested a trade you people are delusional
  12. Mikko Rantanan would have been a nice get
  13. Blackhawks need Knies or Marner.
  14. Potentially again
  15. Corey Pronman goes this way:
  16. Quinton Byfield may be on the cusp of breaking through as a star
  17. Yeah, unfortunately most people realize tanking doesn’t really work in the nhl. Tearing down a team to the studs and playing the long game hampers most organizations. The Blackhawks got lucky to win Bedard lottery and are still years away from contending. There just probably aren’t any Hagels or Debrincats out there. but maybe they get lucky if a Boston, LA, Pittsburgh, Vancouver or Calgary decide to make a splash.
  18. Third pick it is so it’ll be a forward or traded away
  19. LAK and Rob Blake parting ways. This was probably inevitable. Zero playoff series wins since 2014. A consistent 100 point team that can’t get out of the first round. Most of their best players are 28+. Their farm system is bottom third of league. This organization probably needs a reset of some sort. I assume they won’t be a tank team, but where do they get better from here?
  20. Keith’s moronity is the best part of the booth. But Ron Darling’s subtle Mimbo character also entertains
  21. Winning the Bedard pick and hitting on Rinzel and Nazar as mid to late 1st round guys are a couple data points suggesting the hawks aren’t hurting for luck. Throw in the Jones trade and getting what they got back plus moving on from Mrazek and I think things are looking up. I could live with Hagens or Martone at 3. fyi, this is Wheelers tier 2, rated 3-6.
  22. Who’s you all? There’s like one dejected person
  23. If there’s a position where you can step in and contribute it’s on d line, where there’s a rotation inherent in the lineup and you don’t have to play every down.
  24. He’s in his final year of contract. It would have to be a relatively significant offer to make that trade. Poles is all too happy to give away future picks. I think it would be a mistake
