  1. What happened? I saw he had one blocked but made all the rest.
  2. That’s a wild ass game. I mostly listened to first half and saw some of second half on red zone. Seems like special teams shat the bed. Somehow Caleb only had 220 passing yards before the game winner. And then delivered a very nice throw with Loveland doing the rest. Good to see the tight end contribute, and KM running all over the bengals. Defensively, it’s not that embarrassing to give up that much yardage to Flacco, who has shown he’s capable of doing that and has big weapons. But the lack of pass rush 4 years into Poles’ era is embarrassing. Thank god Green Bay has two bad losses now and Detroit refuses to run away with the division. Keeping hope alive into November is mildly enjoyable.
  3. Fortuitous shift pre-snap
  4. They held the top wild card spot in the west until last night, and now they are tied with Vancouver (with one game in hand) for the 3rd position. They do still have a positive goal differential, but let’s see how long that lasts when they go into Edmonton without their two best defensive forwards. This could get ugly but I’m still hopeful they can remain interesting
  5. Every week we see no improvement the timeline for when it matters gets pushed back. Week 1 and 2 didn’t matter but check back in week 8. Week 9 doesn’t matter but check back in week 12. there has been no improvement. He’s gotten worse. Sure, he could improve eventually. But I have no faith that will happen. They have only played one good team so far this season and the results are not impressive. I don’t need to wait until they play actual good teams to express concern.
  6. Did you not read my post? It’s week 9 of year two and he’s regressing. There are zero signs of improvement. His limited successs this season has been escape jobs vs bad teams, with one big win against a bad team. He faced one good team this year and horsefeathers the bed. The schedule gets way tougher in the second half. I don’t see any signs of hope. The head coach has had success in the past but working with QBs nothing like Caleb.
  7. This isn’t a Eberflus thing. This isn’t a Flacco, Browning or Burrow thing. This is a Caleb Williams thing. He’s shown no signs of improvement and I have no faith in him turning things around. He’s had more weapons than any Bears QB in history and doesn’t want/know how to use them. They’ve only beat bad teams this year, they have a negative point differential despite only playing one good team. They’ve barely squeaked out two of their wins against two teams that have been outscored significantly. It’s week 9 of year two for a first overall pick. Caleb needs to be a lot better. It’s way too easy to list a bunch of names that are better than him at his position and that should not be the case.
  8. Bears might be slight favorites in a game most people assumed they’d lose back when Joe Burrow was alive. Joe Flacco has 7 TD and 0 INT as a Bengal but he’s listed as day to day. This Bears team has shown it does not really matter who plays QB against them. They can lose to anybody. A loss here puts a top 5 draft pick on the table as they might only get 1 or 2 wins the rest of the way if they can’t beat cincy.
  9. I did not expect 4 straight hawks goals, 3 unanswered Senators goals and then three more for hawks. Hatty and 4 points for Bedard. Nazar with a shorty. Crevier contributed, Rinzel and Bertuzzi were feisty. perhaps most importantly that was a game you cannot accuse Knight of stealing the win. That was the the skaters First win of the post Reichel era, too
  10. They’ve won 4 of their last 7 9 of their last 24 16 of 41 19 of 58 And they are likely to lose at least six more games this year, if not 8+. The man in charge of putting the team together has done a really bad job. That’s not sky is falling that’s just fact.
  11. I would bet millions of dollars that it was not 32/32
  12. I don’t care about Bagent. He’s probably no good. But if you wait until Caleb goes negative yardage before benching him then there is no point of playing NFL football games. he’s been awful. He wasn’t good last year and he’s getting worse, with plenty of support around him. This isn’t week 3. We’re in week 9 of the season. He had a terrible training camp and preseason. He has been subpar all season and he’s sinking fast. BJ has done his best work with a has been and odds are he’s gonna have to find a new one. They probably can’t go 2 more weeks with this level of ineptitude before losing the room. Caleb has to sit soon. Bagent doesn’t matter. Holding your QB to a standard of not being awful does matter.
  13. If you need a QB to be that bad before you bench him you have no standards and no chance at success
  14. But we are past the halfway mark of Caleb’s career in Chicago
  15. I guarantee that clock is already ticking
  16. The tain has been ascered
  17. Definitely one step closer to calling up another kid though, Moore or Lardis will be here by new year
  18. Assuming that’s the 4th rounder they gave up for Mikheyev.
  19. Groin and calf injuries in practice Thursday
  20. Colorado and Carolina played as the Nordiques and Whalers last night, in full retro jerseys and score bugs referring to those old teams. It was a little confusing at time to watch as even the announcers called those teams by their former names throughout the contest. It would be cool if the whale still existed
  21. A year ago this team isn’t winning games like that, outplayed by superior opponents. Failing to capitalize on a 5 on 3 and a double minor, Bedard bloodied and held off the scoresheet. earlier this week I mentioned the hawks were sitting in the top wild card spot but had played more games than all of the better teams right below them. They are still very likely to drift away from this top spot, but there is currently nobody within 2 points of them that has played fewer games. But they are only one of 6 teams in the west with positive goal differential. These guy are talented enough to make things interesting for a couple wannabe contenders that may start feeling desperate as the holidays approach.
  22. Looks like Chicago is going 11/7 avain tonight in Tampa, and rumor has it Lukas Reichel will be playing on the top line with CB and TB. But Connor will also get a lot of time with Donato and Greene as the 10th and 11th forwards that aren’t part of a complete line. Foligno is back and centering third line while Dickinson is out with an injury and Burakosvsky hadababyitsagirl. Is this a showcase game for Reichel’s trade value? One time Blackhawks prospect that never was will be debuting for Tampa after he rejected Chicago last spring. Tampa is obviously the better NHL team but the much weaker farm system gives him a better shot at climbing the ladder.
