  1. That would be good enough
  2. Probably, but I’m not sure the people on the bears who read those test results and images are qualified to do so
  3. They can’t be blamed for Johnson not being 100% going into week 1. They could share some blame for him being activated prematurely
  4. When the networks put the bears in national tv slots, they tend to regret it. Chicago is somehow a 1.5 point favorite despite allowing 27 points to a team that scored 6 the following week and 52 points to a team that scored 13 the week before. Dallas has already put up 60 points to the bears 45. Taking the over has worked so far this season. And these two teams have averaged 61.25 so far in their respective games. So maybe we’re due for a boring stinker of a low scoring game. But that would require the Bears stopping a competent QB, something they’ve rarely done in recent years.
  5. I would say this is probably correct on the margins, but you may be underrating the drafting side.
  6. So who do we think are candidates for the bears DC position this coming offseason? Dennis Allen was dealt a very bad hand but he’s not going to return at this rate
  7. Something is off with this teams presnap. It may not be his fault. But he’s gotta be part of the solution and he has not been yet a good nfl qb has to at least threaten to win one quarter, or make it a 3 possession game at some point. he’s not at fault for the loss and he wasn’t terrible so that’s nice but by no means was that effort good enough even in the “I know and accept the defense sucks and we will lose” mindset
  8. I don’t think 21 points, 19/30, 207 2/1 and 4 sacks is good enough, but it’s better than awful. The defense is going to get throttled with regularity. Caleb should have opportunities for garbage time stats and he should have had more.
  9. Spencer Knight 3 years 5.83 cap hit
  10. I just assumed a transplant from the northeast.
  11. This was in Florida wasn’t it? They don’t make smart people there, whether you’re born and raised or a transplant. It’s where brains go to get baked
  12. What did we disagree on about Counsell?
  13. She’s the sniper
  14. Minnesota Wild superstar Kirill Kaprizov turned down an eight-year, $128 million contract on Tuesday in a meeting with the team, according to a report on X by NHL insider Frank Seravalli. That contract, which The Athletic had previously reported was the offer Minnesota would make, would have been the largest in NHL history both in terms of AAV ($16 million) and total dollars (surpassing Alex Ovechkin’s 13-year, $124 million deal signed in 2008).
  15. Seriously? Have you just started following the NFL?
  16. honestly took a 50/50 guess of whether he was already on the IL or active.
  17. Bryant is volunteering to go back on the IL in order to make it in
  18. Caleb is awful with quick stuff. He has a few quick strike plays late and missed by significant margins and/or threw the ball into a defender.
  19. You have. The Bears have for years been a team that can occasionally look competent offensively up until the point something bad happens. Good teams recover. The Bears do not. A drive into scoring position then back to back negative plays erasing a scoring opportunity is this organization’s bread and butter the last 5 years
  20. Onward and upward, well at least the spread has moved upward as the Bears are 5.5 point dogs in motor city. The Lions are coming off a bad loss to GB, but the Packers didn’t exactly run roughshod over them, with less than 300 yards of offense. But they didn’t need to do much since the Johnsonless Detroit offense did nothing. this is a get right game for both teams. A lot of times when things look their worst, the bears surprise with an upset win (or near win). I think 5.5 is a very covetable spread for this team. But they need defensive help and Caleb has to do much better.
  21. I really don’t see Caleb being on a long leash, exactly because of those long-term contracts. If they stick with him for a long time their own stars start to fade. If Caleb can’t improve by midseason he is probably benched at least temporarily and a losing season will result in relatively open competition for the job next summer. they have too many holes to be able to trade up for a new qb this draft, and 2026 will probably be a hodgepodge of qb play with that following offseason being the time when Ben will get to select his guy. Or Caleb can take some gradual steps and be serviceable by mid season. It’ll help to go against some non-Vikings defenses eventually.
  22. Because Poles is not good at his job
  23. The bears defense is awful, the fact he wasn’t good against them early is a knock against him. They haven’t had a pass rush in years and the one strength, the secondary, wasn’t playing. A competent QB should easily decimate this defense
