  1. Lotta crappy guys in the hockey world Peters has been fired.
  2. The Bears are somehow 2.5 point favorites now. People can't stop putting money on them this year.
  3. well, he is just now getting to the point of a full college career worth of games...
  4. Yeah, even though he had a rating in the 60's. I thought he looked as good as good as he has at any point in his career on Sunday. The INTs were whatever. Redzone INT can't happen, but it took a great play by the LB. The deep ball INTs never bother me. Sucked that there was a 50-yard return of it, but if you're going to throw picks, best time to do it is on a deep shot. I've seen criticism of the TD pass to Robinson for being short, but that was a layup pass (that he has missed before) and who cares that it was ugly, he scored. Even the RZ INT didn't bother me that much. Like, yea it sucks, but at this point, if Mitch is being aggressive and is throwing the ball past 10 yards past the LOS or more, I'm okay with some inevitable INT. Maybe I'm giving him an unfairly low bar to cleae, but that's it for me at this juncture. The RZ INT was bad, but it wouldn't have happened if the TD would have been converted earlier. I don't mind a long bomb INT, if the INT is caused by something other than the pass being 20 yards underthrown. It was returned 50 yards because there was no Bears anywhere near where he threw the ball.
  5. They should, he's a terrible human being.
  6. Crawford doesn't have much of a leg to stand on if that's his complaint. Neither did Seabrook but it's only human nature to think that past performance should count for something. In Crawford's case, he's been better recently after a rough start. But in the case of Crawford in particular, goalies sharing time is pretty much the norm, and Crawford has missed a ton of time over the past few seasons. He could not have possibly thought he was going to start in most games, or that Colliton is screwing him over. Now, if he's upset because they've abandoned the concept of defense preventing goals, that's another thing.
  7. Third rounder, 74th overall, I think bust is a bit strong. He's serviceable. He's not a difference maker but nobody thought he would be. A better line probably changes things for him. Also would be helpful if the passing game was a threat to make it harder to stack against him.
  8. Crawford doesn't have much of a leg to stand on if that's his complaint.
  9. The game opened as a pick-em but the Bears are now a 1 point favorite, presumably the last time this year the Bears will be the favorite. Thursday football sucks, and this is the first of back to back Thursday games. If they do manage to win, they will reach .500, but probably won't end the season there, as the rest of the schedule is tough.
  10. Doug Pederson wins super bowl and jury is out. Ron Rivera has a decade of quality and its the same as Nagy? 4 NFL coach of the year awards on that list. Well done.
  11. these men have beef
  12. I don't see Theo picking Cotton, like his mother did and his brother did and his sister did. And his daddy died young.
  13. What the hell is an Alternate Governor?
  14. 0% chance he offered actual cash
  15. I just assume burton doesn't play another game for the bears
  16. vegas is still overvaluing the bears
  17. Nagy leaves a lot to be desired but I don't see why he can't improve at the job. Bad QB, bad offensive line and impactless running backs are a tough thing to succeed with. People criticize them for not running up the middle enough when they can't gain a yard to save their lives.
  18. The Bears were a real contender last year.
  19. no need to spend money on an executive search firm when your current management is achieving R.O.E. goals.
  20. If he shows only moderate signs of improvement the team won't be that much better and I would expect them not to give him an extension. Logically your statement is correct however, we're talking about Pace, who invested so much in Mitch, don't you think he'd find any excuse to re-up. Rather, than finally admit his mistake and move on? No. I think he'd love to see Mitch take a leap and he'd extend him with glee. But if Mitch struggles I think he'd be ready to move on, just like he was with Kevin White. I don't want to be in the I hope they don't make the playoffs and fool them business. If Mitch plays well enough to bring them back into the playoffs next year, great. He almost certainly will not, but great anyway. To expand on this a bit, there is no doubt in my mind that Nagy is frustrated with Mitch. I cannot imagine a still frustrated Nagy signing on to a Mitch extension if Mitch isn't much better. Nagy would probably love to draft his guy, with Pace, and start fresh if they get that opportunity. I also don't think ownership would be the least bit disappointed if Pace/Nagy told them they decided not to spend $100+ million on a Mitch extension and think they'd be better off drafting somebody new.
  21. I think he's worried if the Bears turn it around with Mitch they'll give him a dumb extension. Exactly, when I re-read it didn't make sense to me either, should he show signs of moderate improvement in 2020, do not want the Bears fooled into giving him a financially crippling extension. If he shows only moderate signs of improvement the team won't be that much better and I would expect them not to give him an extension.
  22. why would that be bad, assuming Mitch turns it around ala Alex Smith?? Should we just give him to the Bengals once he's figured it out? It really depends on what that hypothetical would mean. If Mitch of 2018 were to be his ceiling, that's a QB who you'd really struggle to build a team around with a giant extension. But they could have a "turnaround" year like that and fool people, when really 2018 Mitch as a ceiling isn't enough. He could settle into just being, like most average QBs, very inconsistent and not a true difference maker. Let the Bears pay the Bears tax. I'll pay the playoff tax. If they manage to go on a 2020 playoff run with Mitch as Qb, odds are he'd have significantly improved. Pace and Nagy would have a lot of data points on Mitch by then and can make the decision about the contract. It's their future they are playing with at that point, and they could still decide to go QB in the draft.
  23. Yes, a castoff like Alex Smith plus Andy Reid plus a 1st round pick. The Bears are not in the situation KC was in. The Bears will not have an Andy Reid to pull that off. They are better off trying to grow with the guys they have and hope Nagy learns from mistakes and together with Pace they get the right guy in 2021. Pace made the team better than it was, Nagy got the most out of them last year. There is something there with this group. They need to fix the offensive line and then draft a QB in 2021.
