  1. All fans of every team do it. It's because most fans are just the casual fan and can't tell the difference between a fly ball and a homerun. They're mostly idiots. it's also not that easy to tell right off the bat if a deep fly will go or not. A ball hit that deep actually is a HR to certain parts of the field. Why people act all high and mighty about overreacting to pop flys is beyond me.
  2. how about some more screenshots in technicolor.
  3. Not by much, and Murton has the superior track record.
  4. Yes, position on the field is meaningless, what matters is his leadoff ability.
  5. Having him not bunt with 2 on and no out.. Dusty Bakerish You don't know Dusty Baker.
  6. You're judging this off of 14 Major League at-bats? his name I'm judging this on the basis that he has never shown me anything to get excited about or to make me believe he can succeed at this level. He is very "Corey-like" and brutal to watch play baseball. He's actually not very Corey-like at all, except for the name, skin color and left handedness.
  7. Ron Santo: "I'm looking at Patterson here and in a way he might be bunting, but he might not be bunting."
  8. The Cubs just lost their starting LF and Murton is the most logical man to replace him. But yeah, let's make gay jokes instead.
  9. At first glance, the white left sleeve of the guy above (is that Wayne Messmer?) looked like a KKK hood.
  10. I don't think that's true. There's a stigma is certain parts of our society, sports probably being one of them. But large sections of this society don't have any such stigma. In my media health class last semester we spent a good portion of the class focused on mental health. Research indicates overall, individuals with mental health issues are perceived much less favorably than "normal" individuals. This applied for the US and at least a few other countries where studies had been conducted. Yeah, but we're talking about going to seek professional help. If anything, our society probably applauds somebody that admits to a problem and seeks to "solve" it. But people don't seek professional help unless they feel they have something to solve. And I can't believe you don't think there's a stigma in our society associated with mental health issues regardless of whether you seek help. I didn't say I don't think there's a stigma with mental health issues. I said I don't think there's a stigma in our society for people going to seek help, which was the initial claim. Plus, our society is actually more of a bunch of different types of societies, each of whom have different views toward the issue.
  11. that is something i should have done long ago I feel your pain. I think I'm gonna pick up an R7 draw this weekend with my stimulus check. I played a scramble this weekend and the only thing I had going was my driver.
  12. Do share...I don't have a TV nearby. From the rough, pretty big distance, and he hit it about 2.5 feet, maybe. I believe it was a hybrid. Next shot was on though.
  13. Phil with a "stars, they are just like us" moment.
  14. and he still puts it in the rough
  15. You are not allowed to speak such ills. Rhetoric only please when discussing the blatantly abused Pie and Murton. It's not like Patterson is going to play LF or anything and lead-off, thereby filling the exact role as Soriano. Oh wait. Except there is no need for a leadoff role and Murton actually is a LF and Patterson is not.
  16. You're judging this off of 14 Major League at-bats? his name
  17. So, naturally, the best thing to do is throw him in LF in Chicago!! :banghead: :banghead: He'd probably be, at the very least, as good as DeRosa out there.
  18. I don't think Pie was ever in the discussion, nor do I necessarily think he should have been. The kid's been a mess since the demotion. It's hard to call people up when they are worthless in AAA.

  20. At least they got rid of the 13th pitcher. Over a week of that idea and only 12 guys have thrown, 3 of them less than 2 innings.
  21. He's been as close to horrible as you can get for a 1B. He's got middle infielder numbers - .263/.324/.450. One decent year at age 27, one passable year at 29. Coming off a bad year at 30 and so far as a 31 year old he's been awful. And again, we're talking 1B. His career splits against RHP only aren't even impressive.
  22. His third birdie puts Tiger at -1.
  23. First impression from that quote is he's just trying to up the price but will settle for far less than 1st round money.
