  1. And it will be on CSN. My concern is, will I be able to watch it? Do they black out out of market playoff games on regional networks? Will they throw in on NHL network as well? I'm very curious about this too, especially for Thursday night. Thursday's game is on Versus. And not on CSN as well? I would much prefer to watch on CSN if I can. comcast says it's airing the game as well.
  2. Because he's not popular. He's been beaten in ratings in nearly every time slot he had on the radio and now he's starting the tv gig with an accompanying internet based sports radio station. He's made a career of out representing the "blue collar" Chicagoan but he's just a caricature of himself and really embarrassing that some view him as the representation of Chicago. The question is not about his current ratings, but rather, how did he become so popular. Clearly he did become popular. But he never should have become an established personality. He's an idiot with nothing to say. I liked sportsrise especially when games ran a little late and I passed out without seeing the end. I'd throw that show on while getting ready in the morning to see what happened. Now, if I ever throw on that channel, North is just blabbering about nonsense and Jiggets is doing nothing. Were those two radio partners at one point?
  3. I'm just saying that for every other team in baseball, you don't even have the option of choosing to listen to/watch your team's own broadcast. If you're lucky enough to have a baseball package that allows you to watch your team out of market, you pretty much take what they give you, whether it's your broadcast or the other teams. In other words, it's not all that sad that you might have to tune into another team's broadcast to get a nice HD picture. For a fan of any other team, that's the only choice, anyway. I don't really have a problem watching another team's broadcast. And I will whenever it's an HD option while WGN is not. But it is an option. Most of the games you can watch whichever broadcast you prefer.

  5. Monsters in the morning is just awful. How did that mongoloid Mike North become so popular in Chicago? And Dan Jiggets tries to put himself up as a deep thinker, but he's such a simpleton.

  7. I don't see the point.
  8. I would, but I'd rather people not know I'm still here and able to go on a conference call. What the hell, isn't it 6:30 over there? 6:37. Call starts at 6:45. You can be one of the last handful of people around here and when you leave you'll here, "Half day?"

  10. I hate that they go through the credits during the freaking 9th inning.
  11. mlb network finally goes to this game, and I get to see my first Wrigley pitch of the year, a ball 4 from Gregg.
  12. He doesn't expect much from Gregg either? Surely Gregg will get us through this without too much drama. It's 4 runs, come on now. you are being sarcastic right? playing on the whole 4-run lead that almost got away thing from last night?
  13. It is a bit strange with a 3 run lead. It's not that strange, in general. You can then justify sitting down your closer. But with the Cubs talking about Gregg's knee not being able to rest after warming up, it seems odd. They can keep him warming up with somebody else starting the 9th though and bring him in only if it turns back into a save situation. He pitched yesterday, but not Saturday, and he won't be pitching tomorrow.
  14. To scratch one more run across and make it a non-save situation.
  15. The bad thing is now Gregg might have to ruin it.
  16. Was there some sort of opportunity for Fontenot to run him over? I think Helton wins that collision every time. helton's not a huge guy, and he was in awkward position, leaning over with his back to the runner. fontenot hit the brakes before he got to the bag in order to avoid any kind of collision, so it cost us a baserunner and an out, probably. Helton is a huge guy in comparison to Fontenot.
  17. damn, you edited that before I had a chance to comment.

  19. Koyie has done the most important thing to keep a job with Lou, good first impression.
  20. It's Ted Lilly. He's been around forever and has been relatively healthy. I would think there's no reason to draw a line unless he starts walking multiple guys and inning and gets in danger of losing the game. If it was a younger arm I'd think about pulling him earlier.
  21. I think it's just a saying. Gameday led by saying he grounded into a force out. I've seen a lot of should be double plays where they just call it a fielder's choice, and no error. I think they scored it an error cause Hill scored. That would make sense. But gameday says "Ryan Theriot advances to 1st on throwing error by second baseman Jeff Baker."

  23. How did Theriot "advance to first on the error" after the fielder's choice? I thought the rule was you couldn't assume the double play. Or is that just a saying?
  24. When some team foolishly lets a guy like Aaron Miles test the open market, you just got to wrap him up with a 2 year deal as soon as possible.
