I actually don't necessarily agree with this. I mean, Fields has 1 pretty good (not great or perfect) game and 1 disaster game. I don't think yesterday proved he's ready to take over the team full-time. I do think, at the very least, you give Dalton an extra week to heal even if he looks to be close to 100%. Let Fields get the Vegas game to prove yesterday wasn't "just the Lions" and that last week was all on Nagy's terrible gameplan. I love Fields as much as the next person, but I don't think you can say that yesterday completely erases what happened a week ago with a historically bad offensive output. If he's good against the Raiders, then he keeps the job. If he's bad again, then I'd have no problem if they decide to go back to Dalton. Dalton games don't do anything for this franchise, but at least they can be justified with a bad Fields performance next week. I agree I think it is clear that Fields would still play a lot in a game that Dalton started, and I am perfectly fine with him getting introduced this way. It might be a boost in a game without montgomery to come at them a couple different ways this week.
