  1. Say what you will about the results, the Bears are not the shitshow a lot of other organizations are. I think the hiring committee was a legit attempt to get diversity of input, and their interviews of minority candidates were not tokens. I think it helps that they look back longly for the days of Lovie Smiths' tenure, but however they got here, I do think it's clear they weren't just paying lip service to the concept.
  2. I thought the reports were Flores wanted Watson.
  3. Brady?
  4. how is that a score for him, he was linked to the job by others a week ago He was definitely the first I saw that said Brady for QB coach/passing game coordinator. Other rumors was for OC. did he make that call before OC was filled, or after? I don't think it really says anything about your reporting ability to link an obvious candidate for a job to an interview for the job.
  5. Oh yeah this screws him over in that respect. Kudos to him for taking a stand though, and there's always colleges that will give him a shot (maybe?) College athletic departments and boards of governors do not like people who sue blue blood types for their hiring practices.

  7. Fun drama and all but I can only imagine this makes it less likely he gets another gig in the NFL. If the Jets were fun Flores would be their assistant head coach next year.
  8. They still don't have a QB. They have one for one year. Cousins is a 4,000 yard 30 touchdown guy. I could see them taking a step forward in year one. Harbaugh is capable. The Vikings have a tendency to be good before crapping the bed late, but that kind of stuff only continues to happen until it doesn't. The transition from Cousins to Mond could be dicey, but you don't have to squint too hard to see a Harbaugh led Vikings team outperforming an Eberflus led Bears team over the next 4 years.
  9. Whenever I see a statement like this, I hear George Costanza. "Me? Oh yeah, I'm a big analytics guy! LOVE those A-NA-LYTICS!" fair, but he did perk up a bit in apparent agreement when Poles responded to a question about the usefulness of analytics.
  10. The DC will call the plays, FWIW. He feels strongly about that structure.
  11. Very little. Quite a few questions about the players already here and it's obvious they don't want to go deep into their thoughts on the personnel.
  12. I don't know how he wanted him to answer this. Everybody knows he's a defense guy who has to rely on his OC and offensive staff to make the offense work. I'm not sad at all that he's handling this that way. I'd hate for him to come out and say we're going to run the ball every play, which Bears fans were probably dying for.
  13. Ryan Poles is emotional.
  14. It's very funny to me how worked up people are getting about this. Like if Payton or Belichick or Tomlin were available yeah give them a blank check. But Jim Harbaugh's resume does not warrant such treatment. And I don't care about the McCaskey's pocket book, but I do care that a contract that big likely anchors him to the team longer than his performance would dictate and that a guy with that kind of contract would also have more influence over the GM than his performance would dictate. One look at the coaching contract market shows that, indeed, his resume warrants such treatment. It's understandable to not want to give it to him, but the market clearly dictates that's what his price should be.
  15. Maybe not, but money can’t be the reason he wasn’t interviewed Why interview a $1K hooker if all you have in your pocket is $60? Because of the implication
  16. I was just joking about the Urban comments he made toward his staff.
  17. He's been a wr coach for 12 years, the lack of promotion is striking. being one of urban Meyers losers is my biggest concern
  18. Would be an adequate WR coach, fairly disappointing OC.
  19. Christian dipshits be wild
  20. it will be interesting to watch his career, he's had an incredible experience working under Fangino I’m picturing a Fangio/Bongino love child. Either way, gabagool
  21. I can’t see any way Desai stays.
  22. Goatse seems incredibly uninspiring. Not sure how you can be considered a disciple of a guy you coached under for one year.
  23. Kaplan reporting that Poles is interviewing Pep Hamilton for OC. Doesn't say Poles and Eberflus. Is Eberflus deferring to Poles on the offensive staff? Or is that Eberflus' preferred candidate and just getting Poles "approval"?
