  1. That is as dumb a football decision as you can make
  2. Lovie is brave at all the wrong times. What a moron. Take the freaking lead!!!!!!!!
  3. A lance Briggs blitz that didn't end in the chest of a blocker? It is a new season
  4. they have been soft and have done nothing like i said, when the defense has had them pinned, they've been good. coming off of turnovers, they've looked bad. that is bad I don't care if you stop the run when the opponent is on their own 5. This is a passing league and they didn't make a play until that sack.
  5. they have been soft and have done nothing
  6. the team looks fine, it's just weird turnovers that are screwing us up. we're playing well. The d has been bad
  7. Was that the bears defense?
  8. We went into halftime down 10 at home to the 0-16 Lions 2 years ago and won. They still have a kick to fumble
  9. Stop freaking blitzing you morons
  10. Is peppers playing today?
  11. he clubbed him in the head, timing has nothing to do with it
  12. The NFL season has 16 games, and is probably going to 18 soon. Is there a law that says it has to play 16? They could add a round of playoffs. Or have each team play one team twice, either way you were wrong when you said "not even a little bit". And the point is the search for a balanced schedule is a pointless endeavor. That wasn't the point I was arguing/refuting at all. The point is that it's easy to see why there's no outrage at the NFL schedule being unbalanced while people complain about the MLB schedule all the time. Well the point you tried to make was wrong and what you said here just backs up what you were replying to. The whining about unbalanced schedules is just a stupid waste of time.

  14. Is it mathematically possible to balance the MLB schedule, or at least get very close to it? Yes. Is it mathematically possible to balance the NFL schedule? Not even a little bit. NFL has 32 teams, 16 in each conference. Each team could face the 15 opponents in its conference and seed the playoffs from those results. Completely balanced. Is there any good reason to balance the MLB schedule? No. It's a pointless endeavor. MLB is a business.
  15. You said former Cub, not Cubs prospect.
  16. Well maybe the real dumb people. Regardless, that team was 2 full disappointing seasons removed from a playoff appearance and coming off a sub .500 record. The excitement level was not the same as it was in February 2004 or February 2008. When the Cubs win, they sell out the next year immediately. When they struggle, they take time to sell. When they do poorly they won't sell out the next year.
  17. Well, is that any worse than his 4th in 5 years? Because unless they plan on extending Lovie for 2012 and beyond, you are just going to be dealing with a new regime after next year. If the excuse is Lovie has a contract, it's quite customary for guys to be bought out of their last year. It's the multi years that are tough to swallow.
  18. He can't really believe this, can he? I do. A 9-7 non playoff season probably means they are back. An 8-8 season may save them, and 7-9 isn't even a guarantee overhaul. And Ted might not be the one making a decision anyway.
  19. 2006 followed 2005, which was really bad, and 2004, which was came up just short. 2010 follows 2009, which was a disappointment, and 2008, which was great. These tickets are sold in February. In February 2006 nobody had any hope. In February 2010, some people had some hope. 2011 tickets will sell worse than 2010. The further you get from good performance the fewer tickets you will sell without a major influx in hope (free agents).
  20. It's tickets sold. Most well in advance. I saw a couple minutes of this one and that place was empty.
  21. sharps have put a ton of money on mississippi state today is my guess. Craig Stevens, arguably Auburn's best LB, won't play tonight and didn't play against Arkansas State....i'm not sure why the line has moved 4 points in MSU's direction just today. Is this going to be a thing now? Years ago I never heard anybody talk about "going chalk" on their brackets, and then every Tom Dick and Harry was using the phrase. I'd never heard the term "sharps" used before this football preseason and now I'm hearing it all the time. By the way, 2nd google option is SkinHeads Against Racial Prejudice. the term "sharps" isn't a super new thing. it has been around for at least a couple of years now. Professional gamblers, wiseguys are known as "sharps". Amateurs (those who aren't privy to the savvy point of view) are known as 'squares'. Vegas seems to lay out odds in such a way that squares will naturally pick the wrong side of a bet. when things seem too obvious, something probably is amiss. I understand the word isn't new, but people using it in public is. I saw it again last night in a publication that never used it before. As for your last point, not really. The so called sharps bet against each other all the time.
