  3. Neither do I, but I've heard talk about them building air-conditioned stadiums. Seriously. The video of all their proposed stadiums was pretty fancy.
  4. that you know about or overall? i am probably missing something obvious, but what happened? A girl who accused a ND player of sexual assault a while back killed herself shortly thereafter.
  5. All signs were pointing toward Sandberg until Quade won a couple more games than expected and gave them a reason to hire him. Hendry often has crazy plans, and he switches them up in a heartbeat. There's no set path. I'm sure he saw the success and thought it must have been because of the manager, since all the talent he acquired couldn't possibly be a sub .500 team.
  6. Geez that is truly beyond awful. They need flex picks like NBC does. GB/Atl or Chi/Phi or Bal/TB would all be much better games. You can't flex MNF. You can possibly schedule 2 of them and feature the better one nationally. Looks like I have to take Cleveland in survivor.
  7. I have not seen many NFL throws. Or at least not with avoid NFL defensive backs NFL throws.
  8. Intangibles. He has a ton of them. Leadership, clock management, confidence. Also very mobile and can throw on the run very well. I take issue with the clock management idea. Not on my eye test. He led some late drives in last year's run, but he takes bad sacks by holding onto the ball and isn't very efficient with his decisions. And while those are the typical intangibles of a solid college QB (which he is) they generally don't land you on the top of draft boards. Teams generally spend a 6th or 7th on such players and hope they can develop into a backup. I would put him below Kyle Orton when he came out and nobody was talking about Kyle Orton when he came out (at least in my mind).
  9. I don't get how Stanzi is considered a first few rounds pick. Before this year he was nothing, but he cut down on INTs and now he's getting talked about. I still see the same weak armed guy who can't make NFL throws and is kind of stupid situationally speaking.
  10. What do you mean by that?
  11. Any chance Childress becomes Bears OC sometime in the next 2 years?
  12. I just saw the picture and video of the Suh facemask play and have no idea how anybody can claim it should not have been a facemask penalty. It was the wrong penalty but should still have been a penalty.
  13. The site that I saw Philly -3 but currently off is now saying Philly -3.5. I wouldn't feel comfortable putting money on the Bears here until it went to 5.5.
  14. Their ability to limit turnovers, keep the defense off the field and the ball out of Vick's hands as long as possible. I did say they'll have to score points but I don't think it will necessarily need to be 27. If the offense can't stay on the field it's only a matter of time before Vick has his way with our defense. Okay, well then I guess we agree that the offense can lose it, but you aren't describing the offense winning the game. In that scenario, the defense will still have to do the heavy lifting.
  15. simply having your hands on the facemask isn't a penalty, Barber's head didn't get twisted at all until Suh tugged on his reins You don't need to twist the head for the penalty to be called. No, but you either need to twist or hold on for a while. Grabbing and then quickly releasing was always the 5 yard variety in the past and that was the penalty that was supposed to be eliminated. What has tended to happen though is that the 15 yard foul gets called on situations where it wouldn't in the past and that's not what the rule change was supposed to do. Actually, you didn't have to grab before to get 5. You could brush it and get 5 in the past. The rules change was meant to eliminate some incidental penalties, but also call some penalties that were forgiven with just 5 yards as 15 yarders. Some stuff that didn't get 15 before does now. That was an inevitable consequence of getting rid of the 5 yard penalty.
  16. That's been a big problem with him in the past.

  18. The post I meant to reply to was yours, in which you said you don't see how they could win. Right? They've stunk in Minneapolis, but they've also been a pretty weak team for a long time. And 7-9 teams tend to lose road games in the division to anybody that doesn't suck balls. If Chicago doesnt' take a step back the next few games I could see them winning in Minnesota without having to take luck into account. Every NFL team has talent. Detroit is talented, but they have only 2 wins for a reason. Cincy has loads of talent but only 2 wins for a reason. The Vikings have a lot of talent but they have 3 wins for a reason. A lot of it is old and/or banged up and their flaws go much deeper than head coach.
  19. Again, the Bears have scored 27 only twice this year, and they've faced some crappy defenses. Philly is top ten overall and against the pass, and top half against run. Chicago's offense has not come close to clicking in a fashion that would make me think they can score 27 this game. Obviously they aren't pitching another shuout. But that's like saying the defense is going to have to show up because I don't think the offense will score 50 this week. And again, I did not say we had to score 27 points to win this game. Well what the hell are you saying when you say the game will be won or lost by the offense. Saying a game will be won or lost by the offense implies that you will have to score a lot of points. Saying 21 will do it doesn't really match up with the idea that the offense will have to win the game. If 21 wins it, then giving up 20 is permissible, in which case they will have held Philly to its lowest point total in any game that Vick has started and finished. I'm not sure what you are saying. I do think the offense can lose this game. If Cutler and the boys crap the bed it could get ugly early much like the Giants game. But I don't see the offense winning it. I think they will either suck or be decent, but they won't score a lot. The defense is going to decide the game as long as the offense doesn't crap the bed. The defense needs to hold the Philly offense in check much better than anybody else has all year.

  21. Childress isn't why the Vikings struggled. They might get a bounce with the coaching change, but that will fade over the next three weeks' worth of games before Chicago arrives. Leslie isn't going to bring Moss back, and he isn't going to make Favre change his stripes. I'm not conceding that game until we see how the next three week's shake out.
  22. I think it's on the defense because I don't see the offense winning a shootout. They've scored 27 only twice. Philly has done so 6 times. Philly's defense has given up some points in shootouts, but they are a top ten defense for yardage, tough against the pass and run. I can't see this Bears offense scoring 28 points against them.
  23. Greg Olsen has been a better blocker than Manu this year. Problem with that is Olsen is actually a decent receiver too and can't do both at the same time. I honestly think Manumaleuna could get cut this offseason, he's been that bad. I think he should. There is no reason to keep an expensive blocking tight end on the roster when he doesn't block at an elite level. He never should have been signed, or praised as a great signing, in the first place. They keep putting him out there over Desmond Clark though. So, I'm guessing he will be brought back. I'd like to draft a TE (6th round or later) or sign an undrafted FA. Hasn't part of Clark's issue been a neck or back problem? Giving him half the season to justify the signing makes some sense, but eventually they half to move on. Between Olsen and the Davis guy I really don't think they have to put much emphasis on TE at all. But if you want to take a flier on a third TE, go right ahead.
  24. They got their asses handed to them by Cleveland. They've got the same point differential as the Bears. They struggled at home to the Vikings in ideal "beat the Vikings" conditions. I've seen them get beat bad by the Jets and also struggled against Buffalo. Two 14+ point losses this season. They are a quality team, but I don't see them as being better than everybody else. I think Green Bay is easily better and that passing game would light New England up.
  25. That, or he ensured he has to keep them there no matter how they win, if they do win in Atlanta.
