  1. I think the hangup is that it's freaking Buffalo. He's gotta convince the fiancee that it's worth the extra $$ to move there. He's gotta convince the fiancee it's worth going to Buffalo 7 times a year. No reason to move there.
  2. https://twitter.com/#!/BradBiggs/status/179961283414736896 Is Brad Biggs in the bag for Forte? Who the F cares about Forte's clean record when it comes to what his contract demands should be?
  3. I don't think TE is a big need.
  4. I can fault him for overreacting to the backup QB situation.
  5. I am. Extremely happy. But this isn't worked up. This is posting about baseball on a lame snark baseball forum. We used to do that around here, but I'm still hopeful it could come back. It is three and a half weeks until Opening Day, and the Cubs have seven legitimate starters for five spots. It's pretty sad if NSBB can't muster up a decent thread about that. It's not posting about baseball. It's fretting about a non-existent problem about a team that has a hell of a lot more to worry about and of which there are much more rational decisions then forcing a trade the last two weeks of spring.
  6. For 2-3 months at most? How is that a downside. Those future decisions don't need to be made in May.
  7. why have we neutered Hester. WHY WHY WHY He's a punt returner and part-time KR. It's what he's always been best at.
  8. You must really be happy with the Cubs if this is something you feel the need to get worked up about.
  9. It wouldn't be progress either. The chance for all three of those guys to improve by pitching in the majors >>>> anything we get out of Dempster in the rotation. Harly >>>>, maybe >. But the chance for Dempster to improve his trade value during the season would be > all of the above.
  10. And they don't improve as pitchers. Why can't they improve pitching every 5th day in AAA? You could always go with a 6th man rotation, letting your top 3 stay on normal schedule and tooling around with the other three. Because they are all of an age and ability where they have nothing left to learn from challenging themselves against AAA hitters. I don't really think that is a thing. A couple weeks or months in AAA waiting for an injury or other opening would not be a setback.
  11. Adam Schefter ‏ @AdamSchefter Filed to ESPN: Lions reached agreement with WR Calvin Johnson on a seven-year, $132 million extension that includes $60 million guaranteed.
  12. Yeah, it doesn't seem like effort is a problem, now it's ability.

  14. Reggie Wayne just became maybe my second favorite Colt player ever. To come back to the Colts -- on a reasonable contract -- when they are rebuilding says a whole lot about Wayne. Thanks Reggie. It says his career is winding down and everybody knows it.
  15. Just so reliable. What the [expletive]? What the what?
  16. Just so reliable.
  17. he was a pipe dream for alot of people. But man...this is great. 2 #3's! and not giving up a #1. His name came up a few times actually, but I think everytime the consensus was Miami had no reason to trade him now.
  18. No, no, no, no, no. The Colts would have had a horrible season no matter who their backup QB was. Take the best backup QB out there and the Colts suck balls this year.
  19. 2011 bears, colts, eagles?, chiefs? The Colts? Their season was ruined because they lost Peyton Manning, it didn't matter who the damn back up was. The Chiefs weren't good because they went after the wrong "franchise" QB in the first place, then lost Orton as well. The Eagles lost because Vick is incapable of being good for 16 games a season, not because of Vince Young. Houston lost because they went through a half dozen injuries at the position, not because they had an incompetent backup.
  20. Kyle Orton is visiting Dallas.
  21. Kyle Orton is visiting Dallas.
  22. ESPN's NFL live is teasing a "Matt Forte Tweet" on their little side panel now. On twitter he has said "You're welcome" 30 minutes ago and "@BMarshall19 bout time bro...welcome home lol" 15 m ago.
  23. Randy Moss only got $2.5m? That would have been a nice gamble.
  24. maybe that will shut up all the olsen lovers. well, we could have had Olsen AND Marshall for a 2012 and 2013 3rd round pick... Still... Marshall with Bennett, Knox, Hester, Forte... we're building up our collection of weapons. No point in listing Knox.
  25. I don't know about that. Jerry didn't exactly avoid all potential trouble makers.
