    Really makes no sense, as in past years you only painted the "opening week" logo if you wound up with one of the second round home openers. Detroit has "opening day," which makes the Wrigley paint even more unusual. I thought even people who opened on the road painted Opening Day when they had their home opener. I don't recall ever seeing Opening Week before.

    The NFL has just done a great job brainwashing people. Be outraged! Herp, OK, derp. I'm amazed that this thing is as big as it is...I HATE when the NFL pretends it is anything less than a shady, dirt baggy league. The WWE doesn't acknowledge it's level of scum, but they also don't hide from it from what I remember. Man that's a stupid post.

    Why are you still in denial about this? They were told to stop and they kept doing it. Shocking has nothing to do with it, blatantly asking your players to cause concussions, and to make guys with concussions have more concussions is just flat out stupid. It's not 1978 and it hasn't been for a while. Football coaches aren't particularly smart human beings, but for the most part they are smart enough to differentiate between "hit that mother-f-er!" and remember to make that guy suffer a concussion.

    I love the KSK post where they completely reversed course and wanted Payton's suspension even longer after he played with Jimmy Buffett. If the parrotheads are on your side you know you are wrong.

    I saw some VP from the Mets on TV this morning talking about selling tickets. They were very proud of going past 40,000 as of this morning for opening day, but not very happy with the sports guy who mentioned that 15,000 of the tickets will get you a free one to one of the next two days. Cubs fans stopped showing up en masse last year, but Mets fans are way ahead of them in this department.

    Yeah, from ground level it's no good. Although that really only affects those people sitting in the Ricketts family seats and behind 3rd base dugout. Most others shouldn't really notice it over there. The basket in general needs to be completely redone.

    The local bar here wasn't able to show the NASCAR race this past Sunday on DirecTV because there is also currently some sort of dispute with FOX, also. Tribune owns several fox affiliates.

    Jiminy Christmas. Yes, we all know this. The point is they are throwing away 2012. The fact that there is a purpose is besides the point. It didn't need to be done, but it has been done. Kyle is the one who is arguing that the organization is throwing away the year for no reason. Because they didn't need to. Things like the need to evaluate and maintaining financial flexibility are just cop-outs for them not trying this year. They could have built a tremendous organization over the next 3-5 years while still trying in 2012, but they chose not to, because they have a leash and a fan/media base that was begging them not to try.
