If you freeze frame the replay right when he releases the ball, you can see 2nd base. It looks to me like he is roughly the same distance from 2B as 2B is from home plate. That's about 250 feet, or maybe less. It's shallow RC field, an area from which only the fastest runners or most aggressive would tag, unless the CF is Juan Pierre. This is a nice throw, but it's also a throw that loads of people can make. Now maybe my estimated measurements are off, but it's not like he was throwing from anywhere close to the 370 foot deep fence.
