I will take the under. He moved it to Friday in hopes that there will be news of improvement of Hossa's health, therefore increasing his opportunity to have a reduced suspension. Shanahan is a moron and the league desperately wants the Coyotes to stay in Phoenix. Why is a hearing necessary? What can Torres or Tippet say in defense that won't completely be refuted by the visual evidence? Shanahan' looking for a reason to lessen the suspension. It's a player's right to have a hearing, I assume, bargaining into the CBA.

I hope Shanahan realizes the Hossa injury is on his shoulders. When he completely negated all of the tough talk on suspensions and safety with that ridiculous fine he made it very clear to all players that all bets are off and head hunting was back in season. You can't give the players that kind of clear signal and expect them to interpret it in any other way. A swift punishment with suspension right then and there and you cut back significantly on what came next.

I'm right there with you but good luck getting them all to move back to Europe with the economic problems they are having now.

I don't either, but they spent the better part of the 2000's doing just that. Hopefully all the talk is just talk and they actually will make an effort to improve the line through better talent, instead of just coaching. So far, Emery has done some nice things. He's not fixing everything at once, and probably not going "after it" as hard as many fans would want, but he made the Marshall trade and has grabbed some guys that can be decent pieces. But how he deals with the O-line in the draft is gonna tell me a lot about where this is heading moving forward. At this point I'd be much more excited to see him go after both sides of the line early and often than go after a WR. The WR need is real, but after the Marshall trade they can still get one in the middle rounds and try to develop. It's not like first round receivers are great bets or that late rounders/undrafted can't contribute.

This makes very little sense. Who in their right mind is embarrassed by the presence of that scoreboard? And no, you can't easily replace it with an electronic version that is the same size with replay screen and stats. Any replacement with a screen is going to require a much bigger size and/or much less information on the screen. They'd be better off maintaining and upgrading the board as is, and adding additional screens elsewhere in the stadium. I'm in my right mind and I'm embarrassed by the thing. I disagree that it would need to be MUCH bigger - a lot of the current scoreboard is wasted green space. The board in Minute Maid Park isn't much bigger, same for Lucas Oil Field yet they offer modern functionality. Have you ever sat beneath the scoreboard? BRRRRRRR.....CLUNK! is a common sound. It needs to go. I'm sure the new park in Hoffman Estates will have a better scoreboard. I did once, and realized what a crappy seat it is regardless of the scoreboard and moved. Just show up on time next time and you won't have to.

With Hossa out I have very little faith. If they managed to win last night, maybe. But that was the emotional opportunity and they missed it. Hossa is a force that wills this team to victory and nobody else can do what he does.

It's a shame they don't face any dome or warm weather teams at home late in the season. STL, DET, IND, CAR, HOU all in the first half of the season. HOU/MIN have a chance of being relatively tough conditions for those teams, but not harsh.

I heard on the radio that he can, but he's not allowed to play before the appeal is heard. Somebody was talking about appealing these on a NY station yesterday and the statement was made that the NHL may make life difficult for you if you try.

That is wrong, dumb and completely pointless. -
Because if he has the ability to hit well enough to be a starter, and he costs next to nothing, he holds more value as a trade chip than a bench player. Why would you put a guy on the bench who can hit for a reasonable average and mash 30 homers a year if given full playing time. It's a waste of resources. if you have that guy and he's NOT in your plans, then he likely is a viable option for someone else. You find out who that is and you milk LaHair for all he's worth. You ruin his value by benching him. Or maybe he won't hit well enough to be a starter.
