  3. Maybe the coaching turnover will happen sooner than we thought
  4. He is a 3-4 tweener with better more appropriate picks available
  5. Yeah, I'm sure they were just winging it and didn't put in hundreds of hours of preparation. You probably know more than they do by reading some scouting reports online. A simpleton can put in all the work he wants, but heis still going to be a simpleton.
  6. I'm so pissed about the lack of decent draft strategy by these idiots
  7. Emery is as much of a checkers player as Angelo. This is terrible
  8. I'm not trying to equate it to what the proper value is, I'm saying I don't like the idea of coming out of this draft minus Forte and the 19 and getting back the 4.
  9. I would hesitate, big time. I would need to figure out a way to get their 2nd round pick in that situation. Forte, 19 and 50 for 4 and 35? I don't know. Forte and the 19 should be worth a lot. And they'd be coming out of this draft down a RB.
  10. http://kissingsuzykolber.uproxx.com/2012/04/the-dumbest-thing-you-will-read-all-week.html#more-47248 philly writer writes something dumb about Asante Samuel, ksk makes fun of it
  11. Well that's a horrible decision by the Bears.
  12. I'd probably prefer that as well. But it's not stupid to take kuechly at 19.
  13. I wouldn't just want any LB taken at 19 though. My point is specifically if a guy who many have as a top 10 talent just happens to drop to them, there's no reason to pass because of position depth. If he does fall it could easily mean a run on other positions has hit the value of those positions as well.
  14. No, it really isn't. It's not about waiting for Urlacher to retire. This is the NFL. Teams decide when they want to move on from a player, not the other way around. If a LB of value is available at the slot it would be perfectly reasonable to make the selection. The defense can use help everywhere. moving on from urlacher would also be monumentally stupid if they don't see any red flags in terms of decline. the defense does not need help at linebacker, it needs help in the pass rush and that's where the value is going to have the largest effect. at this point, there is just isn't a huge leap in value there for the team. Who knows how it will play out, but it's entirely possible that the pass rushing value won't match up to the potentially Kuechly value if he drops to them. We've already seen yellow flags. Urlacher has been on the decline. He's also coming off a serious injury, and recovering from serious injuries at his age is difficult. He is signed for one more season, and it is going to be difficult to bring him back at a cost/cap effective extension. The smart football thing to do is to probably let him walk after 2012. That might not happen, but he has to be willing to take a lot less money to justify a new deal.
  15. WHY ISN'T ANYONE STOPPING HIM good deserved it
  16. 15 is nowhere near a conservative low end estimate.
  17. I think it's a really big stretch to assume that isn't being all that optimistic. 4-5 relief pitchers? So 3 years from now you assume almost the entire bullpen will be Cubs pitchers acquired under Hendry/Wilken? Doubtful. They will probably have 3-4 guys we haven't even thought of yet in that bullpen. This is sounding very Choi/Montanez/Hill/Kelton to me. If you think they make the playoffs next year, okay. But that is doubtful. And you really have to make some unlikely assumptions to be putting together the 2014 roster right now.
  18. I kind of want them to move up in the 2nd, having 2 picks in the top 35-40 or so could really help provide 2 impact 2012 starters.
  19. Pompei has the Bears taking Mercilus with Jones/Floyd/Perry all on board.
  20. I believe this has been assumed all offseason. Somebody with the trib tweeted yesterday that it doesn't make sense to trade for Osi because he thought "the goal was to get younger". The goal for the Bears should be to get younger. There is no huge need to get younger, it's all about bringing in talent. They don't need a 33 year old back up QB. But they can use talent anywhere, no matter the age, if the price is right.
  21. Kiper's latest has Chandler Jones. McShay's latest had Coples (now hightower). They've been all over. Huh, I was watching the scrolling bar on Mike and Mike this morning and it was running through their 1st round mocks. Maybe the "final" links were wrong, or they have a different definition of the word.

  23. How? That's saying the next playoff team will be made up almost entirely of the team's own prospects, and almost all of those guys would have been acquired by Hendry/Wilken. Unless they make the playoffs next year the 25 man roster will turnover significantly before then. And it's highly doubtful the organization as it stands will supply another dozen or so 25-man roster players to the next playoff squad.
