  1. Kiper plays GM for all teams and says what he would do with the picks.
  2. I will take the under. He moved it to Friday in hopes that there will be news of improvement of Hossa's health, therefore increasing his opportunity to have a reduced suspension. Shanahan is a moron and the league desperately wants the Coyotes to stay in Phoenix.
  3. This makes very little sense. Who in their right mind is embarrassed by the presence of that scoreboard? And no, you can't easily replace it with an electronic version that is the same size with replay screen and stats. Any replacement with a screen is going to require a much bigger size and/or much less information on the screen. They'd be better off maintaining and upgrading the board as is, and adding additional screens elsewhere in the stadium. I'm in my right mind and I'm embarrassed by the thing. I disagree that it would need to be MUCH bigger - a lot of the current scoreboard is wasted green space. The board in Minute Maid Park isn't much bigger, same for Lucas Oil Field yet they offer modern functionality. Have you ever sat beneath the scoreboard? BRRRRRRR.....CLUNK! is a common sound. It needs to go. I'm sure the new park in Hoffman Estates will have a better scoreboard. I did once, and realized what a crappy seat it is regardless of the scoreboard and moved. Just show up on time next time and you won't have to.

  5. I would hope this guy is only thought of as depth.
  6. powerful analysis there slick
  7. Not really, but I do miss Campbell.
  8. With Hossa out I have very little faith. If they managed to win last night, maybe. But that was the emotional opportunity and they missed it. Hossa is a force that wills this team to victory and nobody else can do what he does.
  9. It's a shame they don't face any dome or warm weather teams at home late in the season. STL, DET, IND, CAR, HOU all in the first half of the season. HOU/MIN have a chance of being relatively tough conditions for those teams, but not harsh.
  10. There is no chance of either of these things happening.
  11. I heard on the radio that he can, but he's not allowed to play before the appeal is heard. Somebody was talking about appealing these on a NY station yesterday and the statement was made that the NHL may make life difficult for you if you try.
  12. he was gone 30 picks ago
  13. the poor message was already sent.
  14. That is wrong, dumb and completely pointless.
  15. Because if he has the ability to hit well enough to be a starter, and he costs next to nothing, he holds more value as a trade chip than a bench player. Why would you put a guy on the bench who can hit for a reasonable average and mash 30 homers a year if given full playing time. It's a waste of resources. if you have that guy and he's NOT in your plans, then he likely is a viable option for someone else. You find out who that is and you milk LaHair for all he's worth. You ruin his value by benching him. Or maybe he won't hit well enough to be a starter.
  16. this is just a silly statement on about 92 levels Really? The first bolded statement is just a fact. The second one is only silly on one level.
  17. What a pointless statement. Unless the most likely thing happens this less likely thing will happen.
  18. Rarely is a non-update considered a legitimate update. But this is. I've been trying to decide if the delay benefits or hurts the Cubs, assuming they are the "favorite" (whatever that exactly means in this context). On the one hand, some teams may have whittled down their budget for this year by the end of the offseason; on the other hand, who knows how teams budget, right? For all we know, teams' budget year just flipped from 2011/2012 to 2012/2013, or perhaps even other teams are willing to make an exception for Soler - and now they have some additional 2012 revenue to work with. I'm just spit-balling. Ultimately, I'm not sure I see a connection, but it does make me wonder. The Cubs were clear-cut favorites 2 months ago. Now it is less clear. Not sure how the delay can be anything but detrimental.
  19. jesus shanahan is an inconsistent moron
  20. http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/24246/what-is-up-rick-ankiel Rick Ankiel had a nice throw from right center to home preventing a tagging runner from scoring (runner didn't even attempt it). But I think some people might be going a little overboard on the praise. The video didn't match up the descriptions I read. If you freeze frame the replay right when he releases the ball, you can see 2nd base. It looks to me like he is roughly the same distance from 2B as 2B is from home plate. That's about 250 feet, or maybe less. It's shallow RC field, an area from which only the fastest runners or most aggressive would tag, unless the CF is Juan Pierre. This is a nice throw, but it's also a throw that loads of people can make. Now maybe my estimated measurements are off, but it's not like he was throwing from anywhere close to the 370 foot deep fence.
  21. I think it's weird to find the poor job they do charming or accept it as something that has to be a part of the game.
  22. The lack of crippling of the game is hardly a defense of something that is still done poorly.
  23. https://twitter.com/#!/ChrisKuc/status/192296941391069184 Well it sounds like Phoenix is doing what they can to try and trick the NHL into suspending Shaw. Chris Kuc: Coyotes not making goaltender Mike Smith available to media due to "extreme circumstances." #Blackhawks
  24. Smart move taking the lineman first. You can pay Polk less money that way, right? Like, $20,000 maybe.
