  1. He's not playing high school football. His teammates wouldn't give a crap. These guys are paid employees, not soldiers.
  2. They already lost to Indy and Washington, plus barely beat Jacksonville. I think they were already a little exposed. Some people were overboard about Ponder being the ignored version of Russell Wilson but I think it was clear this was never a huge threat.
  3. Wait, what position wouldn't you put yourself in? Taking a picture with your dad as the team that employs him celebrates making it to the world series? You wouldn't do that?
  4. It's going to take a matchup with another successful passing team. If the defense is holding the opposition to 12 points then Jay isn't going to throw it 45 times for 300 yards and 3 TD.
  5. But who leads in sulks?
  6. I can't imagine putting my wallet in my back pocket. If anything I'll put a metrocard in there, or a couple bucks. But I do not think the wallet allows me to effectively show off my thunder.
  7. I can't imagine the full season is anywhere close to a possibility right now, and in all honesty I don't really care. 20 regular season games mean little to me. But if they miss the majority of the season, or heaven forbid, the playoffs. I will not be happy, and I'm normally very happy.
  8. http://deadspin.com/5954817/patriots-fans-are-still-the-worst The (naughty word-filled) jamboroo touches on the awfulness of Pats fans. .
  9. That town has ruined you.
  10. Just tracked it down on NSBB, and the last time I checked, I was at 23,993 on 11/12/2012 WHO WON THE ELECTION??????? Better yet, what are the next powerball numbers?
  11. His trade allowed Cutler to bring his horribleness from Denver and the AFC to Chicago and the NFC. Plus, he failed to remove the Sex Cannon from the league and failed to prevent Tebow from being Tebow.
  12. Yeah, I won't put it in a pocket with anything else. Keys/money go in one and phone gets its own. Also not afraid of frying my nuts since I already have 2 kids and probably can't handle/afford anymore.
  13. I think ratings and attendance (both the official and actual) figures can answer the question.
  14. old style is talking to himself again
  15. I can't imagine pocket lint kills the phone, unless you spend your days at the beach and your pockets have more than normal lint in them. I've never had a phone die on me, but my first iphone slowly got slower and slower and would hold the charge less and less. I think it's about how little effort I put in to optimizing its usage rather than lint. I did drop an old phone in a lake once, jumped in and got it out. The 6 stopped working but that's it. Left the same one outside overnight during a storm in the sand and woke up to the sound of the vibration. After drying it out the thing worked fine. Lint can't kill anything but the weakest phone.
  16. yes they will. the ones who leave will come crawling back once they get good. Yep. Everyone wants to be one of the ones that stuck with them during the bad times only to be there when they finally win. They may not buy as many tickets, or watch as many games, but I'd guess very few of them are suddenly becoming Sox or Brewers fans or something. They aren't going to cheer other teams. They just won't spend money on the current team. They won't go to games and they won't watch on TV. Just look at the lack of interest on this website when the team sucks compared to when they play well. People already aren't "putting up with it" by not paying attention to it.
  17. A couple mamalukes who live a stone's throw from the current stadium may complain and boycott. But that's their problem. It's not just about attracting a greater number of butts in seats, but being able to generate more revenue from the stadium. That place was a dump. I know long island residents who are hockey fans who haven't been there in a decade plus. It's awful. It was an outdated pile of concrete in the 80's, let alone now after all the new buildings have gone up. A small percentage of current fans may jump ship (although I highly doubt that will be the case since they are only 20 miles away and in a better arena) but it stands to reason they will get spillover interest from new fans in the local area as brooklyn is pretty much the epicenter of young families with disposable income in the NY metropolitan area.
  18. some hardcore long island residents will complain. But the vast majority of the population is going to be better served by this location. there was no public transport out to nassau. Nobody who worked in manhattan was heading out to games on Tuesday or Wednesday nights, whereas madison square garden is filled with people coming straight from work (just like the baseball venues). Barclays Center has both Long Island railroad access from multiple lines, and MTA subway access from multiple lines.
  19. Yeah we have entered absurd territory. I know the building on LI sucks. But they had a small dedicated fan base out there. I doubt they will go to Brooklyn for the games. So now they need to build a new fan base. For a [expletive] team. Smart. What? Their stadium was a dump and nobody went. So they moved 20 miles to a brand new stadium. What are you talking about?
  20. And who writes an entire article full of single sentence paragraphs? Half the "journalists" NSBB spits out 99% of sportswriters write columns that look like that one.
  21. I don't get what point you are trying to make with the last two sentences. Why is announcing the Islanders will move 20 miles something they shouldn't do during the lockout?
  22. Islanders slated to move to Barclays Center in 2015, if they ever play hockey again. Good move.
  23. For those familiar with the Cutler is a cat meme. http://cdn.ksk.uproxx.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/lol-because-jay-cutler-is-a-cat.jpg Or maybe this should have gone in the Garfield minus Garfield thread.
  24. http://deadspin.com/5954380/idiot-detroit-columnist-labels-san-francisco-a-strange-baseball-town-because-the-food-is-so-amazing Slides are weird, carousels are cool
  25. Of course he's going to say that. Leverage his way going somewhere he wants. He has a no trade clause. What leverage does he need to drum up by making misleading or false statements? To make it clear he's not simply going to accept whatever trade is put out there just to get out of town. It's leverage and face saving to say you want to stay and prove something.
