  1. marshall for Hamilton? Do it.
  2. looks like Swisher played a lot of center field last year how did he look out there?
  3. I wouldn't say he's making no money. He's essentially got a 4/25.5 deal right now, with a team option to make it 5/35. It's relativley affordable, but it's not exactly peanuts. Espn still has him making 400,000 next year. 4/25.5 still sounds prettyu fair if his power numbers continue to rise.
  4. Whats the price tag on Swisher gonna look like in terms of talent going to back to Oakland? Swisher isn't making any money, I wonder if Hendry would be able to pick up Miggy from Baltimore if he could fill RF that cheaply.
  5. Bruce have the Cubs had any talks with the Orioles about Tejada?
  6. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-071201rogers,1,7650706.column?coll=cs-cubs-headlines Phil Rogers is insane. An offer Hill/Marmol/Pie/Marshall in my mind is blowing away the offers from both evil empires. Why in the world would the Cubs have to part with either Soto or Veal along with the big three they are offering is beyond me. If the Cubs wanted to win this Santana Derby they could easily but at this point with ownership issues there's no way Hendry gambles the farm on one year of Santana.
  7. I can see Hendry and MacPhail hammering something out at the winter meetings. I wonder if we could some how get them to take Jason Marquis off our hands. Getting Roberts and Miggy for our infield would be a huge coupe for Hendry. I'm guessing Pie gets sent in a deal only if the Orioles take Marquis off are hands or eat some cash in the deal. Roberts Fukodome Lee Ramirez Soranio Miggy Murton Soto
  8. If the Cubs can find a taker for Marquis I wouldn't mind Hendry taking a chance and try to bolster the rotation with a guy like Colon on a one year deal.
  9. Where can I find Matsui's Pitches per bat stats for the last few years?
  10. Wuertz- Howry-Marmol-Woody This is a dominat 6-9 and gives Lou a lot of options at the back end of the bullpen.
  11. Tejeda to the Cubs make's too much sense Cedeno Murton Marshall Ohman To Baltimore 4 Tejeada Soranio Fukodome Lee Ramirez Tejeada Derosa Soto Pie The Key is Hendry finding a way to move any of (Dempster , Marquis, Ohman, Infante). re-sign Wood Closer re -sign Prior to a two year deal.
  12. What a stupid move by the Brewers. Barrett would have been a better fit for them.
  13. Number 1 starters don't come cheap I hope the Cubs can get a two year deal done Prior still has the ability to reutrn to 2004 Form. Zambrano Hill Prior Lilly
  14. Even if we have to throw in murton to get a deal done, I'm all for it.
  15. if Jim Hendry can find two middle infielders better than Derosa, I'm fine with Derosa in a super utility role , which means Hendry hopefully finds a landing spot for Infante.
  16. hopefully this move at least knocks soranio out of the leadoff spot.
  17. I am gonna really learn to love April baseball.
  18. in that same article there's mention of a team making a four year offer to Cordero.......

  20. If Woody is the closer, I hope Hendry can land another bullpen arm because I hate to have to count on Woods health again.
  21. If Hendry managed to turn Craig Monroe who was moments away from a sure non tender into even a warm body it should be considered a steal, more than likely Hendry nets some cash considerations.
  22. I have read reports that the payroll will be raised for next season but haven't heard 115 million. For some reason I thought I heard Kap saying the Tribune was willing to take the payroll just south of 125 million. If Hendry can find a way to move Marquis ,Ohman, for anything of vaule the Cubs should have enough money to make some serious moves. I think really think Hendry has his eyes set on Fukodome and Tejeda this offseason . With Dempster returning to the rotation and Wood likely coming back don't be suprized if Hendry takes a flyer on another arm for the bullpen.

  24. I for one love this deal. Infante is a young middle infielder with some upside. Jones is a fourth outfielder who can't throw the ball. We save money with this deal , I don't care who's in center or right it will be an upgrade over Jones.
  25. When this guy was still considered a top prospect in Detroit I think he had a run in with then manager Alan Trammel . Maybe Trammel knows this kid has some talent and is just looking for the place to put it all together.
