  1. I think Hendry is going to make a bold move here if not now then before the aug 31 deadline.
  2. If Dunn is here I'm not sure there's gonna be many at-bats for Jones.
  3. I really really want Griffey. I think Griffey and Piniella make a great recruiting team for AROD in the offseason during the ownership change.
  4. he would be a nice fit if they find a taker for Jones and Ward is going to be out for an extended period of time he would make a useful left handed power bat off the bench.
  5. I am willing to forgive and forget. If the cubs decide to upgrade at center or short sammy would be a nice additionial weapon to have. Sammy as the lone upgrade to the offense would not be enough.
  6. Sorry for the delay. This is in fact "Garwilly" Posting under my brother's account. I have been locked out of my account and have not gotten a reply about how to fix it! Until then.....here I am....in disguise!! No fancy story boards, no stats, no cute pictures today ladies and gentlemen. Just the facts. Cubs v Cards Lilly v Wainwright Good v Evil Do it.
  7. If Ronny is the best chance we have at upgrading are production at short were in trouble. I am a fan of sticking with Theriot.
  8. I'd rather have Griffey. Tejead's coming back quickly from a wrist injury and in terms of what it would take to get him player wise I would much rather see the Cubs take a shot on a guy like Griffey staying healthy. On a side note I don't want to block Arod coming here next year as a free agent.
  9. depending on the prospect going the Reds way I would do this in a heartbeat, Connie can play three postions , is a veteran right handed power bat off the bench. By trading Jones and Izturiz the Cubs will have gained more payroll felxability to make other moves.
  10. If Ward will be out through September I have no problem with Hendry taking a shot with Stairs. I just hope Hendry has his eyes set on getting the offense some help with an impact bat.
  11. He's gonna come back strong this season and be a force us in the stretch run.
  12. I like this move , it gives us an upgrade over what we had behind the plate while still allowing to make moves to shore up the outfield and shortstop.
  13. Any chance the royals are looking to move John Buck?
  14. Jeff will bounce back , small sample size.
  15. If the Cubs were able to dump Jones off on the White Sox and not pick up any salary I would gamble on Macdougal plus we get more Murton and Pie and get some payroll room in the process anything Macdougal gives us is gravy.
  16. I'm a fan of this move Hill will not see much playing time at all. Soto needs to be playing everday. If the Cubs called up Soto so he can 10 ABS in two weeks it would be a waste and this thread would be thirty pages long by the end of two weeks if Barrett was struggling.[/i]
  17. hopefully Hendry finds a way to awaken these guys soon with a shake up.
  18. Hendry will go out and get himself another big bat for the oufield or find a way to get a hard hitting shortstop.
  19. Pena is a 40 homer threat if he gets some at-bats. He's pretty bad in the outfield but come 2008 it will be hard to find an outfield with a better trio of arms than Soranio,Pie,Pena.
  20. I just don't understand playing Pagan and Izturiz. There is no reason Theriot should not be playing.
  21. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=6251 This is going to get ugly. What kind of overpriced reliver will Hendry be able to net for Murton?
  22. Troy Percival is making a comeback to the majors and has been hittinig 97mph on the gun recently. Hendry almost landed him at the deadline a few years back and has courted him in free agency in years past. With the Cubs recent bullpen struggles and Dempster to the rotation maddness might the Cubs take a look at Troy '
  23. only way I see Miller back is as the long men out the pen barring any trades I think Marshall is the new fifth starter.
  24. My guess is Miller is the new long man out of the pen and Marshall is the fifth starter/
  25. I still hold out hope that Wood can be a contributor out of the bullpen the second half.
