I saw the Cubs' "There's Only One October" commercial on TBS tonight and now I'm all geeked up for game time! Those commercials usually make me want to change the channel but it was the first time I saw the Cubs version... It's Fuk and Rami (with Aramis narrating). I want playoff baseball.

Not to mention Kruk making up crap about the Cubs wanting to limit Z to 80 pitches the day he threw 110 for the no-hitter (when Lou said 100 before that game). Yeah, they act like the Cubs backed into the playoffs. Shelton blabbering about momentum? The Dodgers winning 17 games against the West when most teams in that division were trotting out their callups. Whatever. I can't wait for the series to start. Oh yeah, can we get a damn story on a national broadcast that doesn't start with Billy goats, Bartman, Durham/Buckner, and black cats? It's ridiculous. -
I think the Dodgers and Mets are about equal. I think Cubs in 4. People on this board grossly underestimate Dodgers pitching. They are far and away better than the Mets in the pitching department. The Mets have Santana and a whole bunch of suck. The Dodgers rotation is almost as good as ours. We have the type of offense that could easily decided to sleep through the first 3 games and get swept. I respect the Dodgers pitchers but I think some of their numbers are exaggerated just by virtue of pitching in the NL West with an unbalanced schedule. Whereas, the Cubs pitchers have faced much more competitive offenses in the NL Central. Also, I think you are underrating the Cubs ability to score runs. The offense is far superior to last year's hit or miss attack because of the added dimension of the walk (not to mention the Cubs normally work the count and put managers in a position where they have to pull their starters early--it's one of the reasons why the Cubs have scored so many runs in the 7th and 8th innings ).

I'm not sure that it means much. The Cubs have had a few blown saves in the past 11 days, since clinching, which adds to the total. The back end of the bullpen is fine. Most every team is soft in middle relief.

Bob Howry better not make an appearance in a crucial spot in the playoffs... Congrats to the brewers and their fans for breaking their playoff drought. Bring on the Dodgers; we're better so let's show it! This is bitter sweet, hell, I would have loved for the Cubs to face the Mets but they helped keep the Cubs out of the playoffs in 2004 so I shed no tears for that bunch of losers.

Exactly! I know it wasn't the majority of Brewerfan yapping about Lou but the people who were are delusional. The Brewers had the second best record in the League, at one point, so the fact that they are in this situation is all on them.

I want the Cubs to win their 98th game of the season! I'm not hating on the Brewers but IMO, the Mets are a better first round matchup than the well-rested Dodgers. Oh yeah, there's some serious over exposure in this thread. :lol: Go Cubs! Go Twins! Go Mets! Go Indians! FYI, TBS will be showing the Marlins vs Mets after a rain delay.

It'd be nice if Lilly could finish the season with a sub 4 ERA but I don't know if he'lll have the opportunity because he's on a pitch count.
