  1. Sick of Lou? That's misplaced; Blame Z. Most managers would have done exactly what he did when one of the top of the rotation starters is pitching. Zambrano gave up 6 ERs No it's not misplaced. Z had nothing, Lou left him in. I don't care what most managers would do. Z shouldn't have been left in a position where he could give up 6ER. Can't just run to the bullpen at the first sign of trouble early in the game. Except that was about the 19th sign of trouble Don't just quote part of at I said. It was 4 1/3 innings when Z was lifted. Lou has many reasons for not wanting to take him out, least of which is getting Zambrano a win. Next off day is 9/4, Marquis is pitching tomorrow, and we go home to play the Phillies next...

He was a ground ball away from possibly turning a DP and that is something managers consider. Z just didn't get it done. Can't just run to the bullpen at the first sign of trouble early in the game. Plus, the Cubs don't have an off day for 8 more games (with tougher competition awaiting).

  4. I'm late to the party, but Rich Harden is the man! 11 more strike outs?! Wow, the Cubs are 30 games over .500 and own the best record in baseball. This is the best Cubs team I've ever seen. Oh yeah, the Cubs are 15-6 in August with 7 games remaining. They could win 20 or more games this month. Amazing. :)
  5. LOL, this made me laugh. Thanks. Well, that crap is over. I'm glad tomorrow's game starts at noon. I wouldn't want to wait all day after that showing...
  6. Lou already throwing in the towel by taking down Sori for Fontenot.
  7. Blah, this game sucks but the Cubs probably need to have their butts kicked once in a while just to stay humble and not take any team lightly. I like their chances with Dempster and Harden in the next two games. LMAO, anytime Willie Harris goes deep twice in a game, you know it's not your day.
  8. My favorite Cubs offense is when they score one more than the opponent. ;)
  9. Got him! Cubs Win! Cubs Win! Cubs Win! Go Cubs Go
  10. T. Brenneman and Brantley are on crack. They are trying to extrapolate the closeness of this series with the Reds "not being too far off." LOL
  11. Heyl Riot, stop trying to pull the ball. We need a good Kerry to close this out!
  12. I'm glad Z is out of the game. A better hitting team would have lit him up today but, as it was, he survived 7ip only surrendering one run.
  13. Let's not make this scrub look like a world beater.
  14. We better score some more runs. I'm not convinced that Z won't walk a couple and make a mistake.
  15. Hey Corey, you're suppose to be the captain out there. I'm so glad he's gone.
  16. Strike him out throw him out. Phillips still hasn't reached 2B.
  17. He struck out against the Marlins over the weekend. He also had a hit in that game. If these Reds were patient Z would be walking them all.
