  1. Not to mention 2 unearned runs allowed.
  2. LOL, got to love David Weathers
  3. That's what I thought at first too, but now the full quote is on mlb.com- LMAO, this is twisted logic. So, the Brewers don't have to worry about the Phillies being 3 games back, when they play them four games this weekend on the road, but the Cubs need to worry about the Brewers being 4.5 games back (5 in the loss column)? Hahaha! That knuckle head doesn't realize that the Cubs magic number coud very well fall 4 straight games no matter which team wins. Also, I noticed that someone on BF.net wrote that the Cubs are their silver linning. Wut? It's the other way around friends because the Cubs are leading. I'm glad they have Ned Yost on their side; he'd prefer that they pitch Sabathia tonight so that he's in line to pitch against the Cubs instead of pushing him back a game to go against the Phillies in a more important series for their immediate playoff hopes. Hey Brewers, the Cubs series could be virtually meaningless if you lose 3 of 4 or get swept in Philadelphia!
  4. The Cubs brought their bats and it looks like they're gonna break out the whoopin' sticks too!
  5. Reeling? LOL, the team has lost 5 games in a row for the first time all year, yet they still have a 4.5 games lead because the brewers have also been swept, but they are reeling. Whatever. If the Cubs only go .500 this month, the Phillies can't lose 3 games! They are going to the playoffs people. Hell, the Cubs are off tonight and the onous is on the Brewers and Phillies to win because the magic number reduces if they don't. These writers tick me off. Yeah, that wasn't real. LOL, well it got me. That's not too far off from some of the other crap I've been reading online...

  7. He seems pessimistic, but also gave him the time table of 10 days (isn't that what DXL means) "Zambrano refused the MRI... blah, blah, blah" This just proves that Will Carroll doesn't know anything about the situation as well. I heard a commercial of his on XM talking about Z and he was just trying to be pervocative and get listeners...
  8. This thread is crazy with speculation and proves that no one should start to panic without facts. I was listening to Jesse Rogers yesterday and everything he said was speculation, as was Tim Kurkjian's fear mongering (who doesn't know anything about the the Cubs nor does he have any more sources here than the local media). Some people in the media were all ready to report about Z's next appointment with Dr Andrews (and I think many of them are disappointed now). Fans get off the ledge.
  9. Astros radio play by play guy claims he heard that Z forgot to bring his insurance card. LOL, WTF?
  10. You say it's secretive but team's can only disclose as much info as the player will allow; which is part of the reason why Lou told the reporters to go ask Z directly about his situation. The rules on this have gotten significantly more stringent in recent seasons.
  11. If Z's done there's no guarantee that we're toast. Nothing is guaranteed. Sabathia pitched like crap in the playoffs last season, during his CY Young year, and scrubs like Jeff Weaver helped the Cards win a title two years ago. We'll see what happens.
  12. How long have you been a Cubs fan? It doesn't matter. Not all Cubs fan are expecting something bad to happen. I like Lou's response; if he can't pitch, we'll put Marshall in the rotation and move on. That's all.
  13. What the hell are you talking about? The Gatorade "busting" is done with his left hand. Way to pile on.
  14. Let's find out what's going on before panic takes hold... He was hitting 96mph tonight. Maybe it's nothing major and he just needs to throw through it? We'll find out soon enough.
  15. This game was a waste but there's news coming down the pike; Z to see Dr Grzlow tomorrow. He told Rothschild he wasn't feeling well. Lou said w"ll know more tomorrow. That's not good news but there's no reason to react before we know what's going on...
  16. a wet towel a hammer and a few other things
  17. The Score's David Schuster is now saying that Z will not start today! Schuster's at Wrigley Field so I guess it's fair to say he will not pitch today.... The Cubs say Z will pitch in the Houston series.
  18. Yeah, I wrote it from a report on the radio but I think that was wrong after watching Comcast Sportsnet. I think Lou was saying he will look to skip Z (and Harden) after the rosters expand. The radio host made it sound like the replacement would happen today...
  19. I found this on Cards Talk (go figure). I have a goofy sense of humor and couldn't stop laughing when I read this post so I decided to share:
  20. Jim Hendry is expected on Talking Baseball. Click the listen live link if you'd like to hear the interview coming up some time during this hour: http://sports.espn.go.com/stations/espnradio1000/
  21. Well, we'll see, up close and personal, if Myers is truly "reinvented" or if it was the level of competition (Nats and Dodgers). Obviously, I'm hoping the Cubs stick it to him (even if it means line drives all over the park and no homers).
  22. FYI, Z has a tired arm and Sean Marshall will probably pitch tomorrow per Lou via Talking Baseball on ESPN AM 1000.
  23. In other news, Todd Hollandsworth (who lives in the Chicago area), is carving out a little nitch for himself as a former Cub analyst type (he's trying to get in on some of Pleasac's money. LOL). He's on Chicago Tribune Live today, and a frequent quest in the past. I also saw him co-hosting the Sunday night sports wrapup on channel 5 (or 2).
  24. There's no way of knowing if Lou called it or if DeRo did it on his own. Len seemed to indicate that DeRo was doing it on his own...
