  1. Wel, it was recorded as an error but there was nothing wrong with that throw. Howard got in the way of it scampering back to first base and the ball got away enough to allow a run to score. It was fluky. Is it still a "slump" when it lasts the better part of a season? Um, I was referring to his defense. Haha, Rollins throws away a sure DP ball and the run scores.
  2. Hank White beat out the infield hit. Runners at the corners with one out. DWard batting for Harden

  4. have you watched the cubs at all this year? jesus Yeah, I know what our inconsistent offense can do. The only reason we were able to do anything last night is because we finally got to thier bulpen. We have been completely shut down by much worse pitchers than Blanton. We'll also be lucky if we get 5 innings out of Harden today. Our "inconsistent" offense has been more consistently better than any other team in the League. Expecting perfection is unrealistic. Even at his wildest Harden has only given up one run and if he lasts only 5 innings it won't be something we haven't seen before. You make it sound like winning games late is a bad thing; the Cubs score the majority of their runs in the 7th and 8th innings. Again, have you been watching this team all year?
  5. It's (VERY SLIGHTLY) concerning to see a playoff caliber offense getting to our top pitchers. But its early and its a completely different situation than the playoffs. These same guys (Dempster and Harden) pitched well against the brewers and, right now, their offense is much more likely to end up in the playoffs over the Phillies. The issue for both was being wild, up and out of the strike zone, and falling behind. I do not think that has anything to do with the opposition's offense. Of course, one could argue that they took advantage of the mistakes but I still say the problem was more on the side of the pitcher
  6. Let's get this win Dick Harden. I want 7 in a row (and double digit strike outs would be nice too). :)
  7. Go Cubs Go! The Cubs have won for the 50th time at home and are 34 games over .500! OMG :)
  8. Sori double and Riot single C'mon on DLee :)
  9. DeRo with any RBI triple. I knew we'd get to this guy.
  10. The good news, along with it it only being on on 1 run game, is the pitch count disparity is only 4 (to begin the inning) Demp was at 62 Hamels 58
  11. Hamels is also up with all of his pitches but we've been swinging a them.
  12. I don't think Demp is scared he just can't get the ball down. Nice, he limits the damage.
  13. IF Kosuke gets a fly ball. Come on, get him in from 90 feet. Arrrrgh. He'd already flied out to RF when I posted. You don't know that the same actions will happen if Ronny gets the bunt down. Fukudome might strike out. He might homer. No body knows anything other than it was a bad bunt. If it's executed the Cubs have better options; one of which was a sacfly.
  14. IF Kosuke gets a fly ball. Come on, get him in from 90 feet. Arrrrgh. He'd already flied out to RF when I posted.
  15. If Ronny gets down a good bunt, Kosuke gets a sacfly to tie the game...
  16. He misplayed a ball. If it was Kosuke or Theriot or someone everyone would be saying he misplayed it, but since it's Soriano he was hotdogging it. Agreed
