  1. I was told by a Cardinals fan today that they hope Stl doesn't go after Prince because "The Cardinals don't have room on their team for a thug. That's all Prince is. The Cardinals don't sign/trade for thugs. Period." I laughed.
  2. haha I noticed that too but you know its actually a word http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/entrance We know "Entrance" is a word. We're just miffed as to what "Entrace" is.
  3. JoPa broke his pelvis again after a fall at his home. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/chi-paterno-in-hospital-after-fall-at-home-20111211,0,1085111.story
  4. A friend of mine (who is an extreme mathematician/stats guy) posted this in a note... makes you wonder. My boss thinks that there was something going on behind the scenes and that Pujols and Cardinals ownership/upper management didn't get along as well as it seemed, especially after seeing Holiday get his contract.
  5. The coping mechanism going through the BFIB's minds now is that they didn't need Pujols to win the WS because "he went 6-25 in the series, all 6 hits in game 3, 6 RBI, 4 in game 3, scored 8 runs, 4 in game 3....he had one good game in the series and nothing the rest of the games, it was a team effort." Forgetting the fact that they do not even sniff the playoffs without him. Man, I am LOVING this!
  6. Figured this needed a bump: http://misterirrelevant.com/index.php/2011/12/06/bryce-harpers-tattoo-is-lebron-y/
  7. I bet Neon Deion gives the presentation speech.
  8. Especially roping the people to pay for MOST of the stadium because they don't have any money. Yeah, I'd be ticked if I lived in that area.
  9. I'm somewhat humored by the fact that (if they sign Pujols) they'd have approximately 330 million wrapped up in 2 players. I remember the stink the Cubs got for spending "$300million" and practically revamped the team.
  10. Am I missing something? Looking at Stewart's stats, he seems pretty awful.
  11. A buddy of mine actually bumped (literally) into Pujols today. He never said if Pujols was singing "Go Cubs Go" but isn't that song on the chopping block anyways, so who knows where he's headed. Also, I get nervous about Prince. Like the chart Rob posted, heavy guys tend to decrease rapidly after 32. Prince's own dad fell apart after 32.
  12. So, I had a facebook status stating that Ron getting elected was bittersweet and that it should have happened years ago. A guy I went to college with left this response: Aside from removing him from my friends list, I'm not quite sure how to respond without calling him a moran.
  13. Seriously though, who was the ass-clown who voted no?
  14. I thought about making that reference but I didn't think anyone would get it. I was hoping somebody would get it... Though I believe the spelling of the last name is different.
  15. Does the lack of a Florida state tax help them with giving lower offers like it helped the Heat?
  16. His brother Terry is an amazing drummer...
  17. Saw a rumor (can't remember where now) about Martz being interested/targeted for the Arizona St. job... anyone else hear that?
  18. Anybody else watching? The Illinois 5A game was fantastic!
  19. Reading [expletive] like this makes me wonder why were we surprised that the Cubs sucked so bad? The Trib obviously has NO concept of "talent"
  20. At what point can we stop with the "Non-white = lazy" stuff? I know it's a joke, it just seems to have gotten well over-played.
  21. What sport do we borrow analogies from when talking about football? With the whole Theo fiasco, it was always "They're on the 5 yard line to finish this deal. Wait, there was a holding call." With football, do we say "Runners on 1st and 3rd with no outs, bottom of the 9th. Down by 1" or is there some other sport that works better?
  22. I overheard a bit on one of the sports radio stations on XM last night and it made it sound like the Marlins are offering a chunk of team ownership to Pujols once he retires and that he would be part of the "board" or something like that until the day he died. I didn't catch the first part of them talking, so I don't know if they said, "What if the Marlins...". Anyone else hear anything like that?
  23. So if we ignore the worst part of his season, his season looks better? I will never get tired of disliking these types of arguments. His season is his season. Tacking on his postseason numbers to show how close he got to recovering from the slump makes sense to me. Parsing out his pre-April 11 numbers does not. Kyle, we're talking about the first 10 games here. Pujols played in 147 games during the regular season. It's not like anyone is suggesting that you "ignore" half of his season or something ridiculous. Plus, wasn't he dealing with shoulder issues at the end of last season? That could be a good reason for the slow start this year.
