    We should find out in about two hours that we are acting like the K.C. Royals and not a major market team. That said, I do fear that Yu's arm will fall off within three years. So while the Cubs lack of going for some of the top shelf free agents is bothersome, I can understand the low ball offer in this case because of the potential arm issues. So which is it? If we don't win we will never know the bid, so how will we know we are acting like the Royals? Because the knee-jerk reaction will be to assume we bid $1. You know, because the Cubs/Ricketts have no money.

    BREAKING NEWS: NOBODY HAS A DAMN CLUE AS TO WHAT IS GOING ON. The Blue Jays have the highest bid. Nope. The Rangers do. Nope. The Yankees do. Don't count out the Blue Jays. The Rangers have the highest bid. The Cubs have no money. If everyone knows what the Blue Jays and Rangers bid, and the winning bid was "significantly higher than the rest" how is there confusion between those two?

    Illinois played probably the worst they played all season long. 15 unforced errors? You cannot expect to win with that many bad decisions.

    Illinois is playing UCLA tonight for the Div I championship. Didn't know if anyone cared about Volleyball, but I know there are people with both U of I and UCLA connections.

    He's only been accused (by himself) of not being involved in drugs, we have to assume until proven otherwise that he is guilty. Exactly. It's not like he is going to say "Oh [expletive], he better not rat me out. I buy loads of pot from him. He usually gives me a discount."

    If we're assuming the report about him selling to players is true, then yeah. I know Okoye has a past history with marijuana... wouldn't surprise me if several others did as well.

    A few thoughts: The Japanese team selects the winning bid, but not necessarily the highest bid, correct? If so: Darvish has stated he doesn't want the bid to be too high because that would mean a reduced contract. It's possible a 2nd or 3rd highest bid could take it?
