Yep, I'm getting similar sentiment. Are these diehards or casual fans? I gotta feel like most people are happy that he's back long term but the casual fans dont understand how $15 million a year is excessive for a medium market club like STL. These are die-hards (and quite knowledgeable, for the most part) -

I just took a quick poll around my office and they're all excited and think it's well deserved. A few quotes when I asked "What do you think of you guys extending Molina at 5/75?" "You're paying for defense... and he's the best defensive catcher we've ever seen." (not sure if "we've" means Cardinal fans or Baseball fans in general) "Yup. He's by far the best catcher in the majors. Stays healthy, hits well, plays great D." "Very Nice. Glad he'll be around for the rest of his career." -
ESPN has leaked that Epstein did jump the gun by coming to a verbal agreement with Soler. Hoyer put the deal in writing and went to deliver it last Saturday. But since he believed the FedEx office was closed, it's still sitting in his refrigerator, so the Cubs are fine. I lol'd.

That would be a terrible trade for the Bulls. Nobody on that team comes close to being able to guard Lebron. I feel like a healthy Deng is essential in beating Miami.

The Bears have so many FA options and that additional 3rd round pick certainly helps, that we should be able to fill OT/WR/DE rather easily. The last updated mock drafts ive seen, have the bulls taking a TE in the 2nd round. What would the Bulls do with a Tight End?

Also, usually the ads are based on sites you've previously visited and/or local to your ISP, so I thought it strange that the Giants would be pulling up for me... even though this is a baseball site. That ad doesn't show up on other baseball sites that I go to that use Google Ads. Just thought it was funny, is all.

One of my co-workers read somewhere (on some Illini forum) that Thad Matta has an opt-out clause if the head coaching spot opened at Illinois. Neither of us could find any legitimacy to that claim though.

That's not the Cubs problem. Maybe this'll help Ricketts buy up more Wrigleyville property. Club 162(Since it's re-opening I've seen a total of roughly 3 people in on non-baseball days.) I'm looking at you. Correct. That blame lies squarely on the shoulders of the City of Chicago. The Cubs have tried to secure funds to renovate Wrigley without any downtime, but have been denied. Maybe this is just a threat, but if it's not, that area is in trouble and have nobody to blame but the city.
