  1. That's an understandable concern, but the Cubs' current winning % and trends indicate that a 20-12 run & final 100-62 record is quite possible. The bulk of those wins will have to come early in the remaining 32, to ensure getting to 100+ wins, but the Cubs can do it. If we go 20-12 in remaining games, the Brewers would have to finish 25-6 to win the division and Cards/Phillies WC winner would have to go something like 28-2 and 30-2 respectively to keep us out of the playoffs. Even if you scale it back to 16-16/96-66, Brewers need to go 21-10 to win Central, and StL/PHI WC need to go 24-6 & 26-6 respectively to keep us home this October. Even going 16-16, good luck to StL or PHI keeping us out of the 2008 Playoffs.
  2. Your positive posts are scaring me. Winning 62% of your games will do that. Let's win 90% of the rest of our series (tie, at worst, the two 4-gamers [vs PHI / @ NYM]), finishing 21-11 over our last 32, and make MIL go 24-7 just to tie us.
  3. I'd like the round numbers not to stop. Give me 100-60, and who cares what happens the last 2 games. Cubs on pace for 99.69 wins. I hear that. 100 wins (+ a World Championship) would make this season infintely unforgettable; aside from the no WS wins for the Cubs in 99-100 years. Also, whenever we get the next win (plz be tomorrow night!!), we won't be able to finish any worse than .500 this season.

  5. If we don't sweep the Bucs in the next 3 games, I'm gonna be miffed. [-( Which means we'll go 1-2 probly.
  6. I hope the Cubs' advance scouts are watching this. Doumit can be run on.
  7. He just walked Weeks. Pathetic. Just got it semi-close and he'll hack!
  8. Any doubts that if we are in that same situation vs the Pirates in the next 3 games, they hit a GS on the first pitch?
  9. Doh! But still won't score any. Plug your ears people, the screaming about to commence.
  10. Put your bets down! I'm calling a DP here to end the inning with no runs scoring after a bases loaded-no outs beginning.
  11. If the Pirates don't plate at least 1 here, I'm gonna scream like a little girl at a Hannah Montana concert.
  12. Wow. Thought that throw was headed into the 2nd row, giving MIL the gift win.
  13. Freak it! If that had been anyone else other than the Brewers, Cameron would have been out idiotically!!
  14. As funny as that is, let's hope not! Last time he shoved a pitcher, they reeled off 8 or 9 straight!
  15. I'm gonna have to check out BBTN for this play with Punkzynski, cause it really sounds horrendous by reading you all's comments. And HAHA FatBoy!! Keep eating, chief!
  16. I could never be a WS fan just because of Hawk alone. I don't mind "homer" announcers, but that guy forgets he's sitting in a booth and talking on national television instead of sitting at home on the couch, with a brew in one hand and other hand inside the top of his pants, ala Al Bundy.
  17. And will end the day as the only team with 80 wins :) I dig both those sentences! :clapping:
  18. Alright Grabow!! 1-2-3 inning! (really helped that both Braun and FatBoy struck out on horrible pitches, but we'll take it!)
  19. You bring Upton in to have 5 infielders, so what does the pitcher do? Throws 2 straight pitches up in the zone that can be placed in the OF. I know where the real blame lies (Eddings) - by reading this thread - but the Rays pitcher just blew that game literally.
  20. Hardy-Braun-Fielder due up. Yeah. Chances of this game reaching the 11th inning do not look all that great.
  21. Man is it eas(ier) to sit and watch these games. Never want to see the Brewers win, but its eas(ier) on the heart to know that they can't gain ground that day even if they win. That said, CMON BUCS! You can go back to sucking tomorrow and for 3 straight games.
  22. 80-50. +30. Hot damn are those some nice round numbers! :yahoo:
  23. Suppan is destroyable, plz find some offense tonight, Bucs!! Also, means nothing other feeding the ego (thx Uggla!), but while I won't root for the Sox, I wouldn't be opposed to TB losing to maintain our hold on the best record in the majors. *EDIT* - Uh yeah, I'm an idiot. Even if the NL had won the ASG, we'd have HFA for the WS regardless (if make it that far), so having the best record in the NL is the only thing that really matters either way. So yeah. I'm lacking in the brain cell dept. ....... but still, just the idea of having best record in all of baseball (regardless of meaning or not) is kinda chest-puffing material.
  24. He misplayed a single into a 3-bagger while out on the field. That count?
  25. I hate to bag on Geo, but currently, he ain't much better at the plate than Kosuck. Shake it off, Soto, just a bad stretch!
