  1. As frustrating as this 4 (going on 5) game losing streak has been, how mad are you if you're a Brewers fan?? Cubs lose 5 in a row (or at least appears to be so) at the end of August/start of September, and you lose noticeable ground in that stretch (Magic Number)? Thanks to that Mets sweep, its the numbers are hurting Milwaukee now, but its more the dwindling amount of games to be able to fall back on.
  2. Maybe you did your "photo shop" work to illustrate your points there, but if not... how can those be the Cubs' hits/outs when they are displayed as out in the field at that time? Easy. I went into gameday and on the drop down menu right above the image (where it says field controls) I turned on Home Hits/Home Outs... Sorry, wasn't doubting you. Just, eh unique, to see their hits/out displayed while their names are also shown in their respective positions, indicating they were on defense at the time those things occured.
  3. I was wrong. A Randy Wolf single to open the frame, followed by a Michael Bourne walk. THAT's the topper.
  4. Randy Wolf with the leadoff single. Topper.
  5. Maybe you did your "photo shop" work to illustrate your points there, but if not... how can those be the Cubs' hits/outs when they are displayed as out in the field at that time?
  6. Forget Hunter freaking Pence... Ty Wigginton go take a long soapdropping walk off a short cliff. And again with the weakish flyballs to CF.
  7. Don't you just love a losing streak at the start of the last month of a playoff push [which, admittedly if ended soon enough, won't mean anything in the end (thanks wholeheartedly to the Mets)]?? Every man, woman, child, and goat for themselves! :-))
  8. Ryan Theriot trying to go deep or over a CF, like Bourne's, head on a night like this. :-))
  9. It was Ty Wigginton, he of the big 2-run blast, OF COURSE he is going to soapdroppingly nail someone at the plate given the chance! Duh.
  10. As soon as I saw them waving Ronnie, I knew he was so meat.
  11. Well, at least Ryan got that one. 3-0 is not insurmountable, but right now... sure does feel that way.
  12. Another big Geoff Blum HR here (at least for the Astros/Brewers/Phillies)? I wouldn't bet against it.
  13. I'm trying to figure this out... I know the "norm" is to put as many opposite hand hitting batters in the lineup vs a pitcher, but if the numbers and all are true, why isn't Fukudome getting more starts vs LHP? Just last night, Len said that Kosuke is hitting either 10 or 20 points higher vs LHP than RHP this season. Why have an all-righty lineup so the pitcher can get into a groove - espiecally when the umps will give him that low-outside call for a strike? And just as we say the ball won't be leaving the yard easily, Ty Soapdropping Wigginton goes 2-run shot. Lovely.
  14. Like I said earlier in the thread...... good to get the "bad" out now, and get back to doing what we did all season and carry that into the playoffs. Or at least, here's to hoping so!
  15. A hustle single!? From a non-Johnson/Fukudome/Cedeno Cub?? Wow.
  16. Uhh guys, I was wrong earlier (or its shifted)... the wind is mostly blowing in. Unless you absolutely CRUSH it, you're not going yard to straight Center tonight.
  17. Aramis makes foul balls look extremely sexy. Too bad you can't get any style points!
  18. And like I figured, it is now 5-4 PHI, after not even a full half-inning (in t6).
  19. Ok, I gotta agree. Hunter Pence is fantastically annoying.
  20. A windy night in Wrigley (that's not exactly blowing straight in), and Randy Wolf pitching..... sounds like a great recipe for lots of hits and lots of runs. Uhhh, yeah.
  21. Betting this will change before its over, but Nats just took a 4-3 lead over the Phillies, b5.
  22. Just out of bored curiosity... what happens if a batter hits a little dribbler and flings his bat after making contact and running to first, but the bat hits the catcher in the legs while trying to make a play and causes the catcher to trip or disrupts his play on the ball........ can the batter be called out for interference? I know the previous 'Bourne AB/bat toss/Geo making the play' wasn't close, but just brought the question to mind.
  23. With that low outside strike zone (same as last night for Wright)... we better be able to go with the pitch and get hits to right tonight, or we're doomed.
