  1. "Mr Torres, a Mr Nelson Muntz called. He left a message, and I quote; 'HA HA!'".
  2. According to my DirecTV APG, the Cubs vs Astros (in Milwaukee) game from 9/14 is being shown on ch 307 (WGN America) tonight [9/19]. Broadcast runs from 10p-1a CST. Just a little heads up for all those of us who missed it in the first place thanks to those wonderful blackout rules. (although, if Cubs beat the Cards this afternoon, and Reds beat the Brewers in their game tonight... wonder if WGN will cover the clinching celebrations; and if so, how long will it delay the start of the game re-air... stay tuned)

  4. Earliest clinch is now Friday night with a Brewers loss. But the Brewers game is at night... Will probably end at about 11 central. Cubs won't be able to celebrate on the field. Unless they go a few extras - or the final score is like 21-18 - just how long do you expect the game to take? Brew @ Cincy game on Friday night starts at 6p CST.
  5. Alright, let's do what it takes (even if it means losing again) to do this either Saturday or Sunday. Nice BP served up tonight by Marquis and Guzman.
  6. 5 BP meat balls = 2 HRs, 2 2Bs and a single. That's what's been given to Fielder in the last 2 games and what he's done with them.
  7. Prince Fielder takes to Cubs pitching like he takes to his meals.... very aggressively!
  8. Yeah let's destroy the bullpen for a game that is probably already lost and a game we don't really need anyways. Sorry, its just the idea of losing 14-2 isn't very appealing, whether game matters one whit or not, in the end.
  9. And you just know this will set up the scenario of winning the next 2, and Brewers losing in Cincy Friday night........... so Cubs will have to sit around the clubhouse all evening and celebrate on Friday night.... just want we wanted to avoid. You're awesome, Jason! :write:
  10. Get the bullpen going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plz and thanx!
  11. Bases jacked, NO OUTs, and FatAzz up.... =D>
  12. We better be on our game offensively tonight, cause Marquis is gonna give up a bunch (or so its looking like). #-o
  13. Uhh, Cameron was OUT on that SB attempt. But yeah, whatever.
  14. BYTCHES!!!!!!!!!!! Have to watch the game with Brewers broadcasters, and no HD. F U, ESPN (& decision to have the game WCIU)!!
  15. She doesn't have any Cubs gear on, not is she exactly "scantily clad", but by own my personal knowledge, this one is 2-0 so far... so why fight it?? http://69.63.148.121/_images/articles/2008/06/07/untitled.bmp
  16. No idea if tonight's game will be blacked out in the Cubs or Brewers' "DMA" on ESPN, but if it is and you have D* & MLB EI, the game will be shown on ch. 740 (but no HD  ). No idea which channel will broadcasting on 740, as the game is not listed be to be on FSN Wisconsin. Check that, whatever station's alternate channel resides on ch 680 - guessing FSN WI - will be showing the game.
  17. Yeah. All I want is a clinch b/c of a win by us in front of the Wrigley fans. It would be so sweet against STL though. But that could only happen on Saturday and I can't wait for that. If finish this series at 1-1 with Milwaukee, we could clinch on Friday too. If we beat the Birds and Reds beat the Brewers. But that would require the scenario we want to avoid... we win early and team sits around clubhouse watching the Brewers/Reds game, hoping to celebrate after a MIL loss. Friday would the "worst" scenario to clinch. Best to either sweep MIL the next 2 days, or somehow put off clinching until Saturday or Sunday vs the Cards, last home games of the year. Cubs start at 1:20p CST on Friday - Brewers at 6p CST/ Both teams start their games at 2:55p CST on Saturday / & Brewers start at 12:15p CST on Sunday - Cubs at 1:20p CST.
  18. I know it could tempt fate to get too cocky, but cmon... Cubs are 9.0 up on Milwaukee (who has 11 games left) and 11.5 up on Houston (who has 11 remaining, [12 if needed to play that last "Ike" game]). I can be one of the most unsure and pessimistic of Cubs fans out there, but even the Cubs can't screw this up. (KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK on wood!!)
  19. Or much simpler; Cubs and Brewers have 2 games remaining vs each other in Wrigley tomorrow and Thursday: 2-0 Brewers = M#: 4 1-1 finish = M#: 2 2-0 Cubs = Brewers (& everyone else) eliminated from divisional race If the Cubs can beat Sheets tomorrow night, you realllly gotta like the chances of ending all the suspense on Thursday, where its Bush vs Harden.
  20. On September 1st, the Milwaukee Brewers were up 5.5 games in the Wild Card race. On 9/15, before play started, they were tied with Philadelphia. Mets are on the verge of peeing away the East, for the 2nd straight year [this year's collapse not near as monumental, but still]. And I thought we were cursed. In a week and a half (or so I've heard said), the Diamondbacks went from up 4.5 to down 4.5
  21. HOU 1 FLA 5 final Can they re-start the "sweep = clinch" talk now?? :P
  22. (along with a 'Stros loss in FLA) Amen, brother!
  23. If these douchebags in the media are looking for someone to lay the blame on for these last 2 games, man up and take a look at none other than Drayton McLame. HE'S the one who made it the reason the Astros had to wait and fly out, to "Wrigley North", and gave the Cubs an "unfair 'near homefield' advantage". If he hadn't forced Selig to put off a decision, they could have played all 3 games in TB, and then had a very short trip to their next series, in Miami. You went and screwed your own team and organization on all counts with this one, McLame. Reap it!
  24. * 90-58 * 5-2 over last 7 games (all games except 2 vs playoff hopefuls [at the time we played them]) * 4-0 over last 4 games (all games vs teams that were at least 10 games over .500 when we played them) * 8.0 up in the division * 8.0 up for a playoff spot * 6 games is magic number for postseason birth * 6 games (and a HOU loss in FLA or PIT this week) is magic number for division crown * 8 games is magic number for HFA in NL Playoffs * Starting pitching of late has looked verrrry good * Offense is showing signs of reawakening to that juggernaut it was earlier in the season * Some really good defense has been played all year, but real recently too * Best home record in National League (51-24) * Best road record in National League (39-34) Lots of signs and reasons for optimism now... let's ride that wave until we clinch HFA, let alone the division!
