  1. I know its only the 2nd inning, but maybe its a good thing we're getting all this [expletive] out of the way now; losing streak, pitchers with possible arm issues.... or just bad stuff in general. This stuff has to end sometime, so if we can shake it off after a bit... then we can pick up to where we were and ride that wave into the playoffs. :good: (there's a positive post from a guy who doesn't usually do positive in situations like this)
  2. In other good news, Cards just added a run in the 6th; 3-0 Cards. 2 down, guy on 2nd
  3. I hope the Cubs come out and win 18-0 tonight, but I'm just saying that thought might be in the back of some minds if Demps isn't at his best tonight and surrenders some early runs & the Cubs offense doesn't produce up to its averages for a large part of the game.
  4. Cubs just lost 5th straight, but the magic numbers are still rattling off (as I figure it);
  5. :clapping: Updating the "Reassurance Thread" as we speak.
  6. Yeah, I doubt the Cubs are going to "mail it in" during a 4 game losing streak (whatever that means). "... can't lose ground, magic number still went down 1, still 30 over, etc etc.". It means the Cubs could go into the game thinking "If we win, great. If not, nothing hurts.". Instead of going in thinking "Ok, Brewers got swept. Time to end this losing streak, and really ratchet it up & work on killing Milwaukee's hopes for winning the division. Win tonight to get the lead back to 5.5 games and then get back to work on that much-improved road record after a day off."
  7. A small, secret fear of mine is the Cubs will see the result of this one (thinking Mets win), and will look at it as "well, we can mail it in tonight... can't lose ground, magic number still went down 1, still 30 over, etc etc". I will never get tired of the Brewers losing, but this little losing streak must end tonight... need a little mo to go onto the road trip starting on Friday in Cincy.
  8. Nick Evans, I love you! 2-run single to make it 8-2 Mets! 2 down, t8
  9. Glaus does yard work!, 2-0 Cards. t3, no outs
  10. Braun Ks to end the 7th! Cmon Mets... just 6 more outs... if you wanted to add more runs, that'd be ok too.
  11. I just took a shower, but I feel dirty. I feel like rooting for the T*birds! (to help LAD win the West from ARI)
  12. Ask and you shall receive CC; here's the update (as I figure it);
  13. Tired of the "welp, didn't lose any ground" mantra. We SHOULD have won this game. Ugh!
  14. Hoffpaur wouldn't have worked there. Not at all. :-"
  15. Daryle Ward. If you could pull another @FLA AB here... I'd love ya long time! (but not holding my breath)
  16. I really do not like Quintero. Total douche.
  17. That K3 was the same EFFING pitch that was B4 to Berkman!!!!!!
  18. Aramis is as likeable as a fielder these last few innings, as Lee has been likeable as a hitter for quite a while.
  19. Cubs have given up on the regular season... let's go get em with the Wild Card, peeps!
  20. Thanks ump. Totally changes ABs when the hitter has to defend against the "called strike that's really a ball".
  21. Why does bottom of knee, few inches outside K not look like a K?? Maybe cause it isn't!?
  22. Well at least Lee can't GIDP here.
  23. Good inning, Woody. Now PLZ end this, Cubbies!(?)
  24. Remember when Rammy used to be ok defensively?? :-s
