  1. Why do I get the feeling this won't end well (a win)?? :(
  2. Soto... plz don't let this go on and give the 'Trolls confidence!!
  3. Because you've hit into four double plays already today. So he brings in McGehee in a possible GIDP situation. Brilliant.
  4. Bunting with DeRosa, in front of a PH. Uhhh.............
  5. Weeks Ks, Mets win! Well, at least we can't lose any ground tonight... but Cubs, lets do the right thing and get that lead back to 5.5!!
  6. Ayala walks Kapler. Men on 1st & 2nd, 2 down, still 6-5 Mets. Weeks at the plate.
  7. Who's the white version of FatBoy for Milwaukee, #40? Whoever he is, just 2B'd with 2 down in the b10th. Still 6-5 Mets.
  8. I HATE you, Derrek Lee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also really hate you, Geoff Blum!!!!!
  9. Derrek Lee, if you add to your GIDP numbers here, you are SO getting a spanking!!
  10. 6-5 Mets on the sac fly. 1 out, guy on 1st still. t10
  11. No prob. Even though it feels like it should be kinda frustrating after losing these last 3 straight, we're still pretty well in control of the division, let alone the Wild Card. If we can just scrape out a .500 finish (12-12), the Brewers will have to finish at a .720 pace (18-7) to take the Central, and neither the Phils or Mets will be anywhere near enough to touch us in the WC race.
  12. Don't want to steal your thread, UMFan, but here's the update (as I figure it);
  13. Dodgers up 2-1 now! t5
  14. Haha he was clearly out dude. No debate. Other than possible playoff opponents, this is a non-Cubs issue, so I'm not gonna argue... but that said, I still contend the glove missed on the swipe... by like almost a hair's width, but still missed. But hey, it works in LADs (and our?) favor, so YAY! bad call. [if was one].
  15. You're wrong, Gracie. The tag missed him! Very close, but Ethier got in there.
  16. I'm a closet Twins fan, so if they can beat out the Sox for the AL Central - and the Cubs keep on like they have, and win NL HFA - I'll be one happy man.
  17. I hope so.. I mean, the CUBS can close the book on them. But the Brewers cant yet, Im starting to figure out why you guys hate the Cards so much.. Bunch of babies they are. No idea if you are referencing Wednesday night's game or not, but if so... I don't blame Pujols for yelling at Villanueva. That was uncalled for, posturing at the StL bench like that. I don't like the Cards much at all, but still. Don't blame Albert for standing up for his team.
  18. So then..... NL Central: CUBS 85-50 --- MIL 78-56 6.5 StL 74-61 11.0 NL East: NYM 75-60 --- PHI 73-62 2.0 FLA 68-67 7.0 NL West: (currently - all teams still playing) ARI 68-65 --- LAD 65-69 3.5 COL 63-72 6.0 NL Wild Card: MIL 78-56 --- [NYM 75-60 3.5] StL 74-61 4.5 PHI 73-62 5.5
  19. Fornicate you, Gorzelanny!!! 3-0 HR to Braun, to start the game - no outs until Fielder gorunded out. "HEY YOU GUYS!"
  20. Updated after games on 8/29; Cubs just need to play .407 baseball [11-16] to un-anxiously secure the Wild Card, I'm thinking. It would force StL/NYM to go 23-4 and PHI 24-3 to beat us out.
  21. Fixed. I'm not ready to write off the Rockies just quite yet. DIRK HAYHURST The 8/16 entry is the best. Awesome story. Sucks that I kinda gotta root against him tonight if I wanna see COL in the playoffs instead of ARI. Damn.
  22. What if the Brewers have been pushing us to greater heights though? They've been there the whole year. We've had to play our best baseball to stay head. I don't think a little positive pressure from the Crew has necessarily been a bad thing. Don't take me wrong, it will be proud to crow we won the toughest division in the NL on our way to NL HFA, but man would September be so much more relaxing if we were in one of the other 2 divisions.
  23. Damn I hate the Brewers! We'd have a 10.5 game lead in the East right now and in the West, we'd be up by 16!! games. Basically, (if in East) we'd be able to play 12-15 the rest of the way, and the Mets would have to go 24-4 to win the East. In the West, we could go 12-15, and still win the West by a game [& that is taking into account that ARI finished 29-0!].
  24. Cubs only need to play .556 ball the rest of the way to finish with triple digits in the left column. :good:
