  1. That probly cements it. Z can't hit the zone, and when he does, he's getting tagged pretty hard.
  2. B2B walks to Dan "ASG Choke Artist, and Have Sucked Since" Uggla. Niiiiiiiiiice.
  3. Oh, and Jorge Cantu, you've really jumped up the list of "most hated opposition players".
  4. Remember when we all wanted Good!Marmol back from Bad!Marmol.... Good!Z, plz return ASAP!! :beg:
  5. What in the world did the Cubs organization to this home plate ump in the past!? I've seen some horrible Kzone umping so far this year, but this guy is unbelievable!
  6. I am in total concurrence with this. He was one of my all-time hated Cardinal players. But as a Cub, I love what he's done for this team. Bizarro world indeed.
  7. Its just sad to know you have a reliever on a ("on paper") bonafied WS contender who you can't trust with a 7-run lead. Sure he only gave up 3, but if Lou was stupid enough to leave him in there, we'd all have been doing this - :beg: for more Cubs' runs - in the 9th inning of Thursday night's game in the ATL. Why he wasn't DFA'd 2-3 weeks ago, if not alot sooner, is beyond me.
  8. Lou: "You haven't given up the lead yet, Bob, so get to it!" Don't take him out now, Lou! We still have a 4-run lead!!
  9. Discounting the Cubs' DH sweep of ATL, best news of the night! :good:
  10. The AL East is the best division in baseball and it isn't remotely close. I wouldn't say "and it isn't remotely close", but I could definitely see a strong argument made in favor of the AL East. Especially if one wanted to argue that the AL being better than the NL; but as far as divisional records and games dividing the teams (ALE vs NLC), they're not all that dissimilar.
  11. Thank God we've assured ourselves at least the series win vs ATL, cause a sweep is definitely possible for the Brewers this series, and goes to LA next; not as easy, but winning 2 of 3 wouldn't be that big a stretch. And our next series is @ FLA. Considering our luck and history against that team, I'd be ok with going 1-2 this weekend, not happy, but ok. 3-0 MIL now. With Sabathia on the mound, pretty much ballgame (even if just in the 2nd). Not even a slight question as to whether Yost will keep CC in for the whole game or not.
  12. Deadbirds win. And another not-so-drawback I see to StL winning games (as long as they don't win TOO many, ahem) is that it helps support the fact that the NL Central was arguably the worst division in baseball last year, and is arguably the best division in baseball this year.
  13. WHY would you groove a fastball for FatBoy!? 1-0 MIL Screw you, Dads!
  14. I'm not rooting FOR the Cardinals, but I'm not actively rooting against them either. I don't mind seeing them keep pressure on Milwaukee for the WC spot; make MIL worry more about them than us. We gotta hope the Beerdrinkers slip up against these creampuffs they're facing so we can build our lead on them again. Truth be told, I'd rather *possibly* face StL in the NLCS before I would MIL. And while we're on the subject of hopes and dreams, I'd prefer LAD catches ARI and comes out of the West, since it's most likely we're gonna face the Western Divisional champ in the NLDS. (Although even with ARI acquiring Dunn, I like our chances alot more against them [this year, compared to last] in a 5-game series where we have the HFA, and have - at the very least - the co-best home record in the majors. Not to mention our rotation of Zambrano-Harden-Dempster-Zambrano/Lilly-Harden/Z in a short series like that.)
  15. Even if it is, this is the Padres we're talking about here.
  16. Lou's saving "Sneaky Power" for later in tonight's game - should we need the unsuspecting XBH/HR to either tie the game or take the lead.
  17. HANK WHITE!!!!!!!!!!!! HERO!!!!! Sweep is 1/3rds complete!!!!! :yahoo:
  18. Ok, nm. Blanco, read above. Only insert your name in place of KF's.
  19. Kosuke... if you can't even hit a little sac fly to win this........ cmon Fuk. Take some of the heat I've been laying on you off by winning it here, however you can do it!
  20. Would it be too much to ask to see Molina uncork one, on a pickoff attempt, while trying to be a stud and help us win one of these games this weekend??
  21. *slaps self in the face* Ok, not dreaming. But Howry just sat down Ludwick-Glaus-Molina in order, without surrendering a run, let alone a hit - AND got 2 Ks out of the deal!?!?!? Ho-lee Shiznit!!!!!!
  22. Thank God for Jimmy "I'm Gonna Rub Those Stupid Comments in LaRussa's Face Today" Ballgame or we aren't playing still.
  23. And of course, they did. And now comes in the "Ballgame Blower", err, Howry to pitch.
  24. Question is... will that be BEFORE or AFTER our own disaster named Howry comes in and gives up at least 1 run?
  25. Here's to hoping Howry and Ward don't find their way to the playoff roster.
