  1. Who wouldn't trade Jason Kubel, a budding stud who 800 OPS'd last season as he tries to continue to stay healthy with outstanding saber tools for Donald Veal who thinks that walking hitters clogs bases.
  2. theyre miles better than sooner fans though. not even close.
  3. Fun Florida Gator Fact of the Day: Florida has scored SIX touchdowns in each of the last five games before their opponents have scored ONE touchdown. That's impressive in one game, much less five in a row.

It's what happens when every game is 1 - 0 or 1 - -1 instead of 55-10. The BCS was perfectly fine when it used margin of victory. This could be the second time in five years we can have the #1 ranked team not in the BCS Title game because of removing margin of victory.

  6. the computers are so stupid. texas tech is ahead of oklahoma in two of the computers. this is what happens when you ignore margin of victory. i wonder what will happen if florida beat alabama and stays behind texas and oklahoma. they've got quite a bit of room to make up in the computers. granted they play #21 and #1.5 in the computers, but they are currently 6th. If they win, they gain some ground on Texas I guess, but really there's very little room to improve against OU and Texas in the computers. Right now Texas and OU have another top 15 opponent left on their schedule. There's a very real chance that Florida could beat #1 Alabama and not get in the BCS Champ game despite being #1 in the AP and Harris polls.
  7. so new top ten's? 1. Alabama 2. Florida 3. Oklahoma 4. Texas 5. USC 6. Penn State 7. Texas Tech 8. Utah 9. Ohio State 10. Georgia I have no idea who to put ahead, Florida or Oklahoma.
  8. The Beatdown at Doak.
  9. 65-14, beeyotch we need style points, your gators don't Eh, at this point I don't think you do anymore. You're going to be ahead of Texas next week in the polls, and probably ahead of Florida as well...or at least a virtual tie. Also, at the time Penn State was undefeated and Florida DID need style points.
  10. Why is Bradford in the game still? Come on Stoops. Urban's been taking out Tebow in the fourth the last four or five weeks - sometimes earlier. It's 58-14.
  11. Edit: we don't know about OU's kicking game. Now they have what? five FGs all season?
  12. Exactly. Which is more important when it comes to predicting the future? The latter of course. That being said, with each week we learn more and more about teams and adjust things accordingly. And really, after a game like this. Oklahoma is going to be in the class of Florida and USC. Really the concern with them was their defense. We knew they had enough offense and special teams to be mentioned in the same breath as Florida and of course USC. We didn't know if the defense was good enough, but a performance like this answers those questions. Last week I split up the top ten or so into tiers. We can put Oklahoma in the top tier after this game with SC and UF, unfortunately.
  13. this is really mind boggling. alabama was ahead 31-0 at halftime, but because georgia spent all second half piling up yardage through the air and scored a bunch of points that were next to meaningless, while alabama was just chewing up time by running the ball. anyone with any sort of sense would say that alabama carried the play in that game, but according to you it was basically a coin toss. that is just a terrible understanding of everything. I am not saying that Alabama barely won. I am saying that as far what we take away from the game is that Alabama wasn't all that better than Georgia. Alabama and Georgia each displayed similar abilities to prevent/move the ball. The difference in the game (and in all games) was decided by special teams and turnovers. Alabama didn't turn the ball over and Georgia did it twice. However, turnovers are pretty random events. They're not very stable and generally it's better to ignore fumbles all together unless you're an option team - even though they are THE most important thing when it comes to who actually wins the game.
  14. By this logic, Georgia is only slightly better than 5 loss Kentucky and Vandy, 6 loss Auburn, 4 loss South Carolina, and 7 loss Tennessee. Except Georgia's win over Auburn in reality was more than four points on the scoreboard. Except that Georgia's win over Kentucky was A LOT more than the four points on the scoreboard. Let's put it this way, Stafford did more offense than Kentucky did....and Moreno went off in that game. Georgia kicked the crap out of Vandy. Georgia kicked the crap out of Tennessee. Georgia didn't kill the fighting Ball Coach's, but the '[expletive] aren't a bad football team. They're decent. Are you really making this argument in comparison to a game where Alabama went up on Georgia by 31 points, then played out the clock in the second half? This is embarrassing. As far as predicative value goes, it's the right argument to make. Alabama didn't pull their starters. In fact, in this little place I like to call reality, Georgia really wasn't getting their ass kicked in the first half despite the score. They had problems stopping Alabama, but they had no problem moving the ball. They had two turnovers deep in Alabama's territory. You guys need to learn to look for these things if you want to properly evaluate how good teams truly are, not just how good their resume is.
  15. Not really, my logic is pretty damn simple. My logic for Georgia is quite simple. They were only outplayed once this season: against Florida. They were equaled twice this season: Alabama and South Carolina. They outplayed everyone else they played. 10 games is a small sample, but since they returned a LOT of players from the 2007 team, their success in that season probably has more predicative value than most teams previous years. Texas Tech on the other hand. They were only outplayed once this season: against Oklahoma, which is comparable to Florida. They were equaled twice this season: Texas and Nebraska. Hey Texas is similar to Alabama and South Carolina is certainly no worse than Nebraska (probably a lot better). They also outplayed everyone else on their schedule. Really, the body of work this season for the two teams is comparable. Seriously, if Michael Crabtree is pushed out of bounds against Texas, and then Texas Tech got creamed by Oklahoma, everybody would rank Georgia ahead of Texas Tech and this wouldn't even be a question.

  17. Tech is absolutely better than Georgia, and they have the record to prove it. They have the record to prove it? If they play Florida, they lose. If they play Alabama, they probably lose. That's the two losses that Georgia has. It's really up for debate. You can throw Texas Tech, Georgia, Penn State, Ohio State, and Utah all in the same group. What's Georgia's big win? 4 loss LSU or 4 loss South Carolina? Okay? Your point? We're not sitting here and looking at the quality of their resumes. We're looking at what would happen if they were to play. That's the point. Really, all I am saying is that Texas Tech's reputation was built largely on teams that were probably not nearly as good as we thought they were. Georgia's reputation was partly built on last years team - and it should be considering it's essentially the same team. If you put Texas Tech and Georgia on the same field, it's going to be a close game. Texas Tech's not better than Georgia by much - if at all. On the other hand, Georgia's not better than Texas Tech by that much if at all. They're interchangeable. I will give you that their resume this season based purely on the wins is higher. However, considering everything it takes to make a rational decision to decide who is more likely to win if they played, we need to take in a helluva lot more than just who they've beaten, who they lost to and so on. Once you sum up everything, really Georgia's not any worse than Tech.
  18. Well the way Florida is playing just about everyone in the nation outside of USC and Oklahoma would get creamed by them. They didn't get creamed against Alabama. Really, we take from that game that Alabama was *slightly* better than Georgia on that day and I emphasize slightly for predicative power. Of course, I don't expect you realize this. You've always been a slave to wins and losses.

  20. There's no way you can keep Oklahoma behind Texas after this dominant of a performance. You'll probably see them jump Florida in the polls too - though is Texas Tech really any better than Georgia? The answer in reality is probably no.
  21. now 42-7. everything's done in lubbock. talk about laying an egg.
  22. You probably beat Texas 2 times out of 6. you just rolled the dice and got 1 or 2 instead of 3, 4, 5 or 6 jesus int, harrell's heisman trip is done. done.
  23. OU's kicking the crap out of Tech at home, though. I don't think this happens quite as badly in Lubbock. Problem is that the Sooners probably beat the 'Horns in Austin. Yes, we beat them in Dallas, but we didn't out play them and our performance outside of that game isn't as impressive as theirs has been. I see what you're getting at. I'll feel a lot better if it happens next week with a win over Okie State on the resume, though. Oh, they're going to walk all over Okie State. Don't forget Oklahoma has non-conference wins over top 20 Texas Christian and top 20 Cincinnati in dominating fashion: 35-10 and 52-26, respectively. Texas does have the win over Missouri, though Missouri has not beaten anyone all season long. Their best win was against Illinois...who well you guys now, isn't very good. Really I think it should be this: 1. Alabama 2. Florida 3. Oklahoma 4. Texas 5. Southern Cal 6. Penn State 7. Texas Tech 8. Utah 9. Ohio State 10. Georgia
  24. OU's kicking the crap out of Tech at home, though. I don't think this happens quite as badly in Lubbock. Problem is that the Sooners probably beat the 'Horns in Austin. 25. The only way he's at Alabama in 2015 is if he gets offered a huge contract by someone else, like Temple, goes there for a few seasons and then Alabama buys him back* He's probably at one other school with a big contract in between as well.
