  1. "Look at my record, my last stop I was there 15 years. ... I'm 56. I think I moved five times in 56 years. I'm not crazy about moving." lol
  2. Today, he'll hit 4 HR's off Fat Glendon and co.
  3. I hear they got this Matt Karchner kid, light's out closer. How about we give them Niefi, Bynum, Walker and Rusch for Iguchi? :P :D
  4. Speaks good English??? Are you serious? Most people can't understand a word he says. He does pronounce the vulgarities surprisingly well, however. Dont look at Ozzie for bad English, look at the inner city kids and the surburban kids who use ebonics, and say "dude" and "gay" in every other sentence. These kids are going through our educational system. But politics and sports don't go hand in hand, right? :sunny: I'm not sure what your point is. Are you saying that Ozzie's English is good, because the inner-city English is bad? Can't they BOTH be bad? As for the inner-city kids, I doubt if the educational system is teaching them "dude" and "gay". Lack of parents and parenting is probably a bigger issue. I can understand guys who speak english 10x worse than Ozzie at my work. He has good english. He just needs to stop pissing people off like calling Magglio Ordonez a Venezuelan Mo-Fo.
  5. The DH could help w/ the middle-relief problems in MLB, b/c you wouldn't have to pull your pitcher earlier than you wanted to, b/c you need a bat. It's also good, b/c you can give a guy the day off, but still have his stick in the lineup.
  6. I would demand a king's ransom in return for any trade where we send players to the South Side.
  7. Ozzie speaks good english. He needs to stop making enemies, but I would take him over Dusty any day.
  8. Yeah, but we might have been able to get Aubrey Huff with him as well.
  9. We just took the Rangers' DH, why not Oakland's? (Thomas) Imagine that? I just hope Johnny B uses Nevin correctly but I'm not going to hold my breath. He's a (somewhat) unproductive veteren. Dusty will use him a good amount.
  10. Don't bother me until Pujols is on the DL. Until then, nothing will change 300 miles south of Wrigley.
  11. Maybe. I would value walks, I would sit Niefi AMAP, I'd let the young pitchers play thru their mistakes/struggles.
  12. I always forget he exists until someone starts a thread. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Me too.
  13. Go. It's always a fun rivalry. Be loud, be obnoixus. Go to St. Louis is full Cubs gear. Anytime I go to St. Louis, I always make sure to pack ALL my Cubs gear.
  14. So you hope the Cubs lose against the Twins, Indians and Tigers? That's messed up. Well the North Side is out of it. Might as well drag the South Side down with you.
  15. These guys are beasts. When I was in Little League, a teammate of mine, broke his wrist, though not as bad. He was in a cast for 4 weeks. And he was back and mashing the ball 2 weeks after the cast was removed. As for Prior, he is just a who can't tell the difference b/t pain and soreness.
  16. How about, he's a great person off the field, a good player, and someone who is clean, but happens to play for a team 300 miles away that a lot of Cubs fans hate.
  17. And if the Indians actually decide to play to their potential, they can be included there also. You know the Yankees and Red Sox are both going to make the postseason. They have to. I'm pretty sure it's in the baseball rule book that they both have to be in the playoffs. if they aren't, ESPN will explode I'd love to see the 2 largest payrolls sitting in the clubhouse watching the games in October. Unfortunately we know it'll never happen. I would rather have the White Sox at home watching October. Whether that means both the Yankees and Red Sox getting in or if it means Cleveland plays well and gets into the hunt, I don't care. As long as the White Sox don't make the postseason. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  18. His wrist will be stronger in the end. it would be really funny if he came back mashing the ball after the Cubs finish their Interleague series w/ the Twins, Indians, and Tigers, and Barrett serves his suspension during this time, and then both of them return to face the White Sox, and along with Jones and his abilities to kill the White Sox, sweep them. That would make my year. Seeing the Sox's opponents face us w/o Lee and Barrett, yet the Sox have to face us w/ them. I would love it.
  19. :Looks at qoute in sig:
  20. Who cares?? I think the Bulls outspent teams to win their titles. It cost JR 33M to bring Jordan back for 97-98 season.
  21. Same sort of pale hose.
  22. Hopefully that team is the White Sox. :)
  23. That's my thinking too. Nope. When a player wins, he gets to chose. I still think Barrett should drop the appeal if it isn't heard and serve it vs. AL Central teams from June 16-25.
