  1. John Harbaugh was quoted as saying that he thinks Jim is no longer considering Michigan.
  2. Indiana made a big financial commitment to their program by increasing the pool for assistant coaches by nearly 100%. They're getting position coaches to come in for lateral moves but big raises.
  3. First report from a news station in Detroit saying that Rodriguez is gone. If Michigan picks Hoke, what kind of coaching staff can he reasonably be expected to put together at this point?
  4. http://c0013599.cdn1.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/x2_40b1178
  5. Tandon Doss is skipping his senior year at Indiana to enter the draft.
  6. Disappointing match against Man U and West Brom Saturday morning. I got out of the shower to see the official completely blow what should have been a pk and a red card, making it a 2-1 score and 11 v 10 West Brom advantage in the 1st half. Instead, Man U goes on to win 2-1. Really could have been their 1st loss.
  7. Lunch pail white guys never go out of style I find it less offensive to just assume they're shouting the racial slur.
  8. Maryland goes with Randy Edsall from UConn as their next head coach.
  9. no, but the way i see it the first idiot that can get to the ball could hike it to anyone in particular, who could spike it, regardless of the status, location or number of other players on the field. you would lose some yards, but the clock would stop and you would have time to get your field goal unit out there. this couldnt happen in the NFL because of the 10 sec runoff. Maybe, but the ball still has to be spotted. The odds of the ball being spotted before the players are at least close to being set are quite small. I watch more of the NFL than NCAA, and it seems there are plenty of times in the NFL the ball is spotted well before the team is lined up to take a legal snap. Especially when the last play didnt get many yards. Maybe college is different, less efficient with spotting. If there's a play down the field in college after which players have to run a decent way to get set, the clock is most likely going to stop on a first down anyways. That's not the case in the NFL. If it's a short play like the run last night, the players don't have very far to run and they're basically set or near set by the time the ball is spotted, especially when the defender lays on the ballcarrier for a few extra seconds.
  10. Don Treadwell is leaving Michigan State to become the Miami (OH) head coach.

  12. It would take more time to organize a penalty to stop the clock or get a pair of random players to spike the ball than it would for the QB to spike the ball. North Carolina didn't get any advantage by committing that penalty.
  13. Tate Forcier has been ruled ineligible for the Gator Bowl for "not meeting university standards." Odd. Maybe this will push him to transfer. Wow, KSU hit with an excessive celebration call after a TD to pull them within 2 with 73 seconds left. Now they have to go for 2 from the 17 yard line.
  14. All of the suspended Ohio State players are coming back next season, according to Tressel. He said that they wouldn't have made the trip if they hadn't pledged to return in 2011, meaning that he would have suspended them for the bowl game.
  15. Wolves with a 1-0 win at Anfield over Liverpool. Yowza. Liverpool's 85th minute or so goal on a set piece was disallowed on a trap that left 4-5 red jerseys offsides.
  16. I liked the 2 Escobars more, but Pony Express was also very good. According to CFT, sources told them that Maryland is willing to pay up to $3.5 million plus incentives. Seems a bit far fetched.
  17. I'd be surprised if he's allowed to return to the team. That's probably the final nail in the coffin.
  18. Gunners beating the snot out of Chelsea.
  19. Well, he took his time. He baited Sanchez. Harris knew that was where he was headed just a couple of seconds into that play.
  20. Olsen might want a different pair of gloves.
  21. It was blocked.
  22. Postponed to Tuesday night. Disappointing. It'll still be on NBC, reportedly, so that's going to do a lot of damage to ESPN's ratings for the Champs and Insight bowls.
  23. All I can find is a sportstales.com report, which is just a website of madeup stories and spam, and posting by a chicagonow.com blog. There's nobody semi-legitimate that has even mentioned Tressel's name today.
  24. The Bears released tickets for the game this morning and there are still some available for those interested.
  25. But in this case, depending on what happens with the NFL lockout situation, the players may be hurt far more than the school. If guys are "forced" to come out early who otherwise wouldn't have because of these suspensions, they could very likely be looking at worse draft positions than another year under their belts. One of several key differences between this and the Reggie Bush situation is that the sales didn't involve an agent.
