  1. Ugh, they're giving away 50,000 rally towels on Sunday.
  2. That was true in just about every city in America. The 70's sucked for a variety of reasons. Yeah. New York may have been worse. Driving to Carpentersville this evening to pick up my Bears tickets. Never have I been more excited to fork over $700 in cash.
  3. Not to mention an awful time to live in the city. 1970s Chicago was probably a post-WWII low point.
  4. Just bought a pair in 432 (upper rows, I think) for $700 on craigslist. Gonna pick them up tonight in the NW burbs. My hope is that I can sell the other ticket for at least $375 tomorrow on craigslist. I probably could have gotten a better deal tomorrow or Saturday, but the problem is that a lot of these tickets are listed by season ticket holders who may decide to go to the game if the prices come down more. There are also so many buyers that you have to be really quick when the postings are listed. Luckily this guy had 2 deals fall through already.
  5. It's not even the biggest Bears game in Chicago history. But it's certainly the biggest Bears game in modern NFL history. I can pretty much wear whatever I want to work. I wore my Butkus jersey the Friday before the Super Bowl, so I'll be wearing my Steve Walsh jersey tomorrow, instead. I'm going to be going to the game. Unfortunately, I'll also be paying secondary market prices. But I can't not go.
  6. For those that haven't seen the .
  7. I've come across 5 really good ads on craigslist for tickets so far today, but I haven't been able to pounce fast enough. Rats.
  8. Weird stuff going on with TCU's schedule. First, the MWC wants to move their home game against Boise State to become a Boise State home game as a big "screw you" to the departing school. Now it was just announced that Texas Tech is dropping TCU as they make room for a 9 game conference schedule despite still needing a non-conference game. TCU was willing to move it, but Texas Tech declined.
  9. Trying to figure out how much I'd spend on a ticket if I had the chance to buy one for cheaper than current secondary market prices. I'm thinking up to $300 just based on the rationalization that I've spent $500 or more each of the past 3 years on Northwestern bowl games.
  10. Good job by the NFL and Fox to realize what would have happened if they stuck with their original plan. It wouldn't have been good for anyone.
  11. The ratio of crap articles to relevant articles will reach historic proportions this week. Already seems to have have hit that level.
  12. You can't try to buy them online? That's in addition to online. The odds of getting tickets by phone through the automated line are much higher than doing it online, though, particularly when the entire state of Wisconsin will also be trying online. At least they're higher if you can time it decently.
  13. For those going for tickets tomorrow afternoon, don't try for any more than 2 tickets. You'll have a 0% chance of landing 4, but you may have a 1% chance of landing 2. Personally, I'll just be going for a single seat and then deciding if it's worth it to go alone vs. selling it. Also, call in to the automated line (866-448-7849) 10-15 minutes early and get familiar with the menu options. You should be able to keep saying "start over" every few minutes to go back to the main menu and avoid being disconnected.

  15. Northwestern hosts Wisconsin next Sunday at noon. There will be a high number of no-shows.
  16. The few tickets that will be released will be on sale at 2 PM Tuesday. They start at $134 before fees.
  17. My goodness. If you want to rip the Jets for giving the Patriots a chance in this game, blame Greene for not going down short of the goal line. Don't blame him for the celebration.
  18. Players typically don't go all out for a chance at the Super Bowl. But an overblown slight taken grossly out of context? Watch out!
  19. First time in NFC history that a pair of teams from the same division will play in the NFC Championship game. It has happened 3 times in the AFC.
  20. Williams just ate that LBer up. Nice ST game for Roach.
  21. Never interrupt a "Green Bay sucks" chant, Olsen.
  22. Another awful PI call.
  23. I've watched Family Guy before but that was the stupidest thing I've ever seen.
  24. The throw had already started by the time the contact was made. Bad call.
  25. Are you mad at them or yourself?
