  1. Pittsburgh is 4th in runs scored and tied with the Reds for 1st in HRs on the young season. DP!
  2. Man. Bulls down early but lead 58-53 at the half.
  3. Bah. That one's gone at Wrigley.
  4. There was already one out. Walker! It's fundamental baseball. If you're going to make an out, improve the state of the game. Moving Pierre to third does very little. As T_T said, he's most likely going to score from second on a basehit. And Lee shouldn't be worried about hitting the ball to the right side. His job is to drive him in.
  5. There was already one out. Walker!
  6. Hope he doesn't do something bad.
  7. Wow, a hit. Time for Dusty to give up an out.
  8. So fans will stop booing Jones once they see what Bynum can do on a day-to-day basis.
  9. Realized that right after I posted. Of course, we'll see if they end up putting him on the 60-day DL. Just call up Theriot if they want another bat. They still have 6 outfielders if you count Hairston.
  10. Wow. NU sweeps the DH today at Illinois and they remain in first place with a 9-2 conference record...despite a 12-18 record overall.
  11. And only on 91 pitches. Rusch can't afford another bad outing tomorrow.
  12. The intro to Fox on the Run by Sweet is great for coming back from a commercial break.
  13. A draft of the book on Murton is currently in the peer review stage. They're also working on a publishing deal, but that's down the line.
  14. Pie adds another RBI double after a 2-out error scored a run and allowed Hill to reach.
  15. Four-pitch walk for Pie to leadoff the 6th.
  16. According to Cubs.com, they're not set on another simulated game. He'll throw with the team on Monday in LA and then decide whether or not to start his rehab assignment.
  17. Murton! I don't think the Ramirez trot was that big of a deal. There's no way he makes it to second and he isn't going to get thrown out at second. It would be a problem if it wasn't hit to dead center, of course, but it was crushed that way.
  18. Pie is 1-2 on the day after an RBI double. 1-0 Iowa.
  19. He tried to trick the baserunner into thinking it's not close to get him to run through the plate instead of slide. It didn't matter if the ball went by him. Nice throw, Barrett.
  20. Well Bynum couldn't have played that one any worse.
  21. i'm pretty sure all of us would. I really don't understand why Baker didn't do this. I don't know. He wouldn't be guaranteed 2 ABs in that spot and it might be worth waiting until they get the right situation to use him. He's the only power they've got on the bench.
  22. Stiff neck from the collision last night.
