I am sure he is yes. I know it has sort of become a joke in the Cubs organization, but the towel drill is a very important drill for pitchers to work on keeping their mechanics in line. Is there any data on that or is this a new thing that looks good? All things being equal (i.e., no arm troubles), I'd just as soon a pticher pitch. I'm not sure how many pitchers actually use it. I've only seen Prior and a few pitchers for Cuba do it during the WBC. But the towel drill is just a simple, short activity of snapping a towel against someone's glove to get mechanics in line for a few minutes just before throwing.
