  1. Gametime weather: 70 degrees, wind blowing out to left field at 22 mph, mostly cloudy, 30% chance of rain.
  2. Dope's value won't be that high this trading deadline unless he really tears it up when he gets off the DL in June. The Cubs might have to hold onto him for another season just in hopes of him proving he can produce at AA and AAA. Of course, he'll be a year older, but they might not have much of a choice unless they want to move him while his value isn't as high as it could be.
  3. First pitch crushed to the warning track just to the left of dead center! I-Cubs win!
  4. Welcome to the board. Extras.
  5. They said on the MiLB.tv ad I saw that all AAA games would be available this season. Same thing MLB.tv did with spring training. MiLB.tv is doing 500+ AAA games this season, but they don't say how many of any given team. And Tim, I think I cursed him. Missed the grand slam and tuned in to see two outs.
  6. Fontenot with a PH HR. Pie lines out to center.
  7. By the way, in case anyone wants the Iowa video feed in a media player like Winamp or VLC that you can keep on top, just copy and paste this link: mms://a1503.l1086953389.c10869.g.lm.akamaistream.net/D/1503/10869/v0001/reflector:53389
  8. Bah, no replay. And Felix flied out to center. Hopefully they'll archive the game so we can watch the grand slam tonight. By the way, Ben Sheets is scheduled to make his last rehab start tomorrow against Iowa. He'll throw about 80-85 pitches. Hopefully that game will be on MiLB.tv, too.
  9. Hill is settling down. He's retired the last 6 in a row and a few of the batters were caught guessing.
  10. Are you listening to the I-Cubs game? I'm curious as to how Gwynn Jr. went from 1st to 3rd on a groundout to the 3rd baseman. Watching. He was running on the groundout and got into third just before the throw back from first. By the way, the scoreboard animations are starting to freak me out.
  11. They have replay on the broadcast, so hopefully they'll show Pie's grand slam when he comes up again. Hill is very impressive tonight.
  12. Wow. Talk about coming out of the gates fast. And that's what, 3 ABs with the bases loaded in his last 4 ABs? Maybe 5. You don't see that too often with a leadoff hitter. By the way, there is video for that game.
  13. Yeah, $13.9 million a year (on average) after this season isn't too great, but roughly what was expected. Let's hope he lives up to it.
  14. Good. Now it's time to wait for the contract details.
  15. Also keep in mind that for the first time, bleacher fans will be able to access the rest of Wrigley Field. Just make sure you take your ticket stub with you and have someone save your seats. And another vote for Lou Malnati's.
  16. Well, he's listed as 30-years-old and only has to stand up for about 15 minutes each game. We'll see what the contract is worth. I'm guessing he'll be over-priced by the time it's up, but maybe not by too much. And the Red Sox can afford it.
  17. Welcome to the board. I don't think you'll be able to find easy-out parking right near Wrigley for under $20. Some might charge as much as $30. Street parking might be an option if you're willing to look and not in a rush. Depending on where your hotel is, going north up to the Howard stop on the red line to park might work for you. If you park anywhere else, you'd have to transfer to the red line (not a big deal, of course). Gates open 2 hours before the game and you really shouldn't have to line up before that for a weekday April game. The Cubs BP session starts before gates open, so you'll only see about the last 20 minutes of it before the Reds hit.
  18. I tried to sync up the Pat and Ron call, but that audio clip was too short and you can't really hear the crowd noise. And since Joe Morgan kept his mouth shut (surprise), this works out. I just wish they wouldn't start the video clip a second before the ball is hit. They've been doing that all year so far.
  19. And if there's no room for Miller, any team would be able to afford his 1-year, $1 million (not sure what the incentives are, if any) contract at the trade deadline. That could net us a good prospect or two.
  20. Here's an avi file of the grand slam, but you'll need the xvid codec to view it. Let me know if there's anything wrong with the audio. http://www.jonmdavis.net/cubs/barrettgrandslam040906.avi (about 8 mb) By the way, the extra bleacher crowd really made it seem like a playoff game last night. The shot of the ball sailing onto Waveland was just awesome.
